Smile My daughter has been recently diagnosed with KPR this is what we have tried and works pretty well

I found these boards looking up this skin condition the derma. said my daughter has. She started getting it over a year ago and I just thought it would eventually go away but it never did. The doctor prescribed a lotion that made it worse. It was called Lac-Hydrin. So me being the mother I am took matters in my own hands and decided to try everything I could possibly try. I went to the store and bought tons of lotions, etc. This is what we have done so far.

We started using Dove pro age body wash. I had her take one of those facial gloves and told her to use this on her face and exfoliate morning and evening. Then I we tried Eucerin Redness relief after it dried. This did work for the redness really well. I was very impressed with this but she was still upset about the bumps. She is 10 and both cheeks are covered with bumps. She said kids were making fun of her so I told her to stop the redness relief and just start using Eucerin Plus Intensive repair body creme. At first it didn't do anything. Then the bumps lessoned and lessoned. The redness came back so I said okay use the Eucerin plus then use the Eucerin Redness Relief. She has been doing this routine for 2 weeks now and we have saw an major difference in her skin. Her bumps have diminished I would say 50 percent and redness is always gone with the redness relief. I wish I could find something to completely get rid of the bumps but I told her that is probably impossible. I feel so bad for her. She also has hydrohydrosis (excessive sweaty hands and feet) now this. The girl can't catch a break.

Oh we have also been using bare minerals rare minerals acne treatment. I don't know if this is doing anything since it isn't acne and we don't use it all the time so it probably isn't doing anything.

I hope this routine may help someone else. The key is to exfoliate too.

I have the exact same problem as your daugter and I will definitely try the two eucerine cremes! I wanted to thank you for the treatments and ask where you could find the cremes. Can you purchase them at a place like Walgreens or Walmart or are they only found at special stores?

Re: My daughter has been recently diagnosed with KPR this is what we have tried and works pretty well

The Eucerin redness cream I purchased at Walgreens. It is where all the lotions are. The other lotions and soaps I bought at Wal mart. Now that its summer time and my daughter is swimming a lot her face has almost cleared up. She is so happy right now but I am so worried its going to come back once it gets cool outside. I don't know if its the sun, the cholorine or what that has cleared her face up. I mean there is still a few bumps but it is like 95 percent better than it was. I told her that it will probably come back but its only cause of it getting cold. I wonder if its the cholorine and if it is I wonder if you can dab some on her face with a cotton ball. I know that sounds extreme but if that is drying up the bumps and clearing it up why not, right?

KPRF does not really come and go, its always there.
the redness from flushing/blushing comes and goes is that what u mean by cleared up ?

Re: My daughter has been recently diagnosed with KPR this is what we have tried and works pretty well

In summer if I have been out in the sun alot I do notice my facial skin is a lot better.

I can remember going on holiday in my teens. I was outside a lot in the sun and the KPRF really reduced and with it the redness.

Unfortunatley as soon as I was no longer in the sun the KPRF came back. Because they had seen the improvements my parents bought me a small sunlamp - however this didn't have any positive effect on the KPRF.

There is definately something in being exposed to sunshine.

exactly what Anne said. I have read these boards and people to have said that in the summer their KPRF has reduced greatly. That is what happened to my daughter. She still has it and a little of the redness but no where near what she had. She still has some bumps but they are 95 percent better not as raised and as noticeable but they are still there of course. In the winter it looked like someone slapped both her cheeks really hard and the bumps were all over her cheeks and going down her neck. They have reduced greatly this summer. So no it doesn't go completely away but it does reduce in severity. Hmmm wonder if I should move to a warm sunny climate

Re: My daughter has been recently diagnosed with KPR this is what we have tried and works pretty well

most people on these boards experience flushing/blushing when in heat or sun, and the redness on the cheeks is more from flushing/blushing then KPRF itself. kprf is mainly KP with some redness, the intense redness is due to flush/blush. KP is known to lessen in summer time, which is a much more minor condition. but all is good, so good luck.
