I think initially people should take 2-3 capsules a day until they see an improvement, and then start taking less.

but.. are you sure that you has KPRF?

Thanks all for sharing your experiences, both positive and negative.

The effectiveness difference because of the brand is interesting...

"I noticed I was flushing less, and then noticed a difference in the overall redness"

Yes, actually that is what happened when I started taking it too.

How are you doing now, is your face still clear? Also what did you find to be the most effective amount to take per week? One capsule every other day or 2 times per week?

Re: Evening Primrose Oil diminished my KPRF

It definitely still works for me but,
I'm in a tough spot.
The evening primrose oil is still causing bowel problems, so I have been taking it only once a week. That's not often enough, and so the base redness has come back. I still don't flush very often though, and even when I do I don't feel it, i.e. my face doesn't burn.

I think stress from worry and social anxiety are causing Irritable Bowel Syndrome, so that is why the Evening Primrose Oi(EPO)l is enough to upset my system.

So now it is like, which is worse, flushing or having no energy because I can't keep food in me.

I am VERY glad to hear other people are not having this problem. I didn't have it initially when I was taking ALL the beauty oil (that I made myself, which also contained the same EPO) , so I hope it is mainly due to my now overly sensitive system caused by stress.

I am going to try taking fiber, and, of course, try and reduce this worry and social anxiety.

Re: Evening Primrose Oil diminished my KPRF

Oh, in regards to your question,
Every other day reduces the base redness the maximum amount (almost completely) for me. 2 times a week still left a little room for improvement. So I would do every other day.

Someone made a good suggestion (maybe you?) that you should take more in the beginning and after you see results taper off until symptoms start to return, and then go back to the dosage right before that point. That is how most medication works, so it might apply to this too. 1000 mg a day, which is two capsules a day, should be enough as a starting dose.

I'm sorry to hear your having those stomach problems. Hopefully the fiber will help resolve this. Since I have taken the evening primrose I have had no stomach problems at all but I guess it depends on the individual.

I am currently taking 2 capsules twice a day and I think I will continue for a week more and then decrease to every other day like you suggested.

Good luck to you. Also try taking a multivitamin daily. They will help assist your digestive function, besides many other great benefits.

Re: Evening Primrose Oil diminished my KPRF

Hey guys! I have KPRF and this really makes me feel so down all the time, specially when i flush in public or when im meeting girls. So i've been folowing this thread for a while now and thought about giving it a try. I've only been able to find an oil named "Primrose oil 1300mg" which contains Evening Primrose Oil: 1300
Gamma Linolenic Acid: 135 mg
CIS-Linoleic (Omega-6): 935
Cis-Oleic Acid (Omega-9): 105 mg

Should i give this a try? cause the thought of beeing flushfree and blush free would really make me so happy!

Re: Evening Primrose Oil diminished my KPRF

I took every day 1000 mg EPO, now its 3 weeks ago since I started.

Still no effect in reduced redness and flushing/blusing. I use the brand AOV.

I've got red dots on my upperarms, and all day long red face. I've got KPRF.
Why doesn't the EPO work for me?
btw I used a few months ago the Ultimate Beauty Oil.. also didn't work..

I realy hope there will be a product out soon which will remove my redness. I dont care about the red dots on my upper arms..

I hope the sansrose product will work 100% on the redness and blusing/flusing and I will enjoy life again!

Re: Evening Primrose Oil diminished my KPRF

Thanks Tanaka for your info. I wish I could get the oil... The differencies between brands issue is interesting. I visited the Whole Foods website and tried to search the oil photos and info but I didn't find anything. And the Whole Foods doesn't have an online store... I live in Poland and the nearest whole foods shops are in London . And I want to give it a try but have no clue how to get it (im not into any other brands) But if someone used no Whole Foods brand evening primrose oil and it helped to diminish the redness please write a post here!!!!

@ jason: lots of replies iin the thread about paxil... Would it be enough just to read the first page or is there some important info on the other pages?
