Final Attempt
here are the things i have tryed so far
i have tried pyratine-6 for about 2 weeks and i have seen a slight improvement. i have gone to two sessions of V-beam and i has also helped with the redness somewhat. Now here is what i am thinking... i have noticed, and some of you probably have as well, that the kp only happens in certain spots of the body ( i.e. face, upper arms , thighs, butt ) there has to be a reason for this and my guess is that it happens while we sleep. In sleep the weight of our bodys puts pressure on mostly these parts of the skin and inturn the skin is irritated and "breaks out". i don't think that there is anything we can do for to prevent this( other than controlling your sleepiong position) in any part of the skin other than the face. Now this is my experiment and its gonna sound funny but im desperate. I have a lacrosse helmet that does not come in contact with my cheeks at all so i am going to use it when i sleep. this way there will be no way for any sleeping position to irritate the skin on my face. Along with this i am going to begin oil pulling, begin a much healthier diet, and spead a solution of green and aspirin on my cheeks every day( to help with inflamation). Also i have one session left for the V-beam and i am going to continue use of the pyratine-6. I am attacking this thing on all fronts and this will be my last try. if it doesn't work im giving up and i will just have to live w/ it. I will post the results in one month... wish me luck. |

Re: Final Attempt
I have learned to sleep facing up, so not to wake up with one side of my face red. Usually because it takes like an hour or 2 for them to equal out. Also if you try a diet, you might as well go with a strict candida diet like me. Basically no sugar, no wheat. Only vegies, meat, and some fruit. If you plan on attacking it on all fronts, might as well go hardcore diet and try everything that has worked for peeps.

Re: Final Attempt
that thing where u wake up on one side of ur face is even more red than the other , I had it to for 15 years, its the friction and heat from lying on it. but that along with flushing/blushing went away completly when I started taking Paxil 20 mg daily. along with flushing/blushing in a warm room or car during winter, or being outside in the cold, or being in the heat of the sun in summer, all stopped. and also had V-beam (PDL) once a month since DEC 07, and having about 2 more, May/June!
sleeping face up works, but sucks u cant do it every night cause u cant get comfortable, I tried it, but face up explains the friction and heat when lying on ur side. |

Re: Final Attempt
I started Paxil before having PDL, Kid! Khrissy3000 just started paxil a week ago and his flushing/blushing completly stopped, and he is still looking for a derm who does PDL, as he never had any yet. how many MG are u taking, u might need more, for me 10mg was not enough, but 20mg was the key! so my doctor prescribes me 1 20mg twice a day, even though I only use 1 pill a day, he knows, but since u get 60 pills for 1 month, it lasts u 2 months since only taking 1 a day. Paxil takes away the flushing/blushing, but not the redness due to KPRF, which can be treated with PDL!

Re: Final Attempt
i take 30mg 2 hours before i go to sleep, i usually don't flush/blush until about 10 pm the next day. What side effects come from taking higher doses of paxil besides exhaustion? Is there a limit? But my therapist so to say, also gave me wellbutrin which helps me be more social and out of myself...but it also is known for anxiety. So i want to keep taking both, but i think the wellbutrin might bring on flushes and blushes, but it has changed my life, made me more active and more motivation. Maybe i should just break up the paxil and take it throughout the day? Or increase to 40mg, i don't want to be taking to much because it can make me drowsy. It does not completetly kill my sex drive, but it does effect it.

Re: Final Attempt
I would not want to be taking 2 meds, even though its safe, but have u asked if the welbutrin is interacting with the paxil? Paxil alone should get rid of anxiety, if u do 40mg take it at night same as before bed, and see how u feel. but stop the welburtin for a few days, while taking 40mg paxil. paxil

Re: Final Attempt
From what i have researched, a lot of people take wellbutrin with paxil to negate the libido effect paxil has. Also the wellbutrin helps me be a lot more outgoing, i think i am going to start taking 30 at night and 10 in morning of paxil. The wellbutrin has really changes my entire social outlook. Anyways been off steroids 2 days so far, only had one moderately bad flush but that was expected. Other than that seems to be going normal.

Re: Final Attempt
whatever works for u kid, no libido problem here. do u lift weights, workout? working out with free weights can raise ur libido naturally, not to mention get u in shape and healthier. when I first mentioned paxil people here talked about suicide and now libido, the problem is I think people read too much into the side effects and almost wish they dont get them but always think about them, ask ur MD how common is it to get side effects from taking paxil, and see what they say. its rarer then u think. not to mention u just came off steorids, which go through ur bloodstream to work, talk about side effects, I was not on or ever on steroid creams but u have been for almost 2 years, so maybe the flush/blush that ur still expericning is a rebound effect from dicontinuing which is very common and almost definate when stopping steroids, give it more time more is not always better.

Re: Final Attempt
yeah i am very active, it is not libido as much as difficulty reaching an orgasm. But you could be right that the flushing/blushing is just from withdrawal from steroids. Paxil effecting libido is actually pretty common though.

Re: Final Attempt
Ive read that, but dont experince that. dont go by what u read, as everthing on the net is excerpts of articles and nothing is a full article, u could be reading something from overseas, or something written to down paxil or whatever. whatever problem ur having down there could be from a few things, being depressed over KPRF, depression alone can do a number of things to the body especially libido problems, have u read about that! or it can be as well from the coming off steroids too.

Re: Final Attempt
Well this is my third day without using steroids, and i am at school so this is the ultimate test. My theory is that when i started the steroid topical originally it lasted all day, but now that my skin has got used to it when i put it on a night...by the time i hit around 10 AM the rebound effect sets in causing evening flushes. So hopefully i can just completetly stop it and be fine. The only bad flush was the first day i stopped it, since then has been fine. I will post in a few hours and let you know how the school day went with just paxil, and eucerin perfecting lotion. The zincO should be here soon so i am looking forward to a more natural look with it.

Re: Final Attempt
odd.. the side of my face i sleep on is always softer and less red when i wake up, which has to do with a higher thread-count pillow case, I was told acts as a "mask" to protect my face.
