Uk cream .
Hi folks , my derm recommended a 'redness relief correcting cream' that's sold in larger Boots stores , it's not expensive so just wondering if anyone has tried it? Active ingredient is niacinamide ! It's in the Dr Nick Lowe range . This is not a cure but I believe it temporarily reduces the blood vessel size so might be worth a go .

Re: Uk cream .
It looks promising, But i found this on google
Topical application of niacinamide has a stabilizing effect on epidermal barrier function, seen as a reduction in transepidermal water loss and an improvement in the moisture content of the horny layer. Niacinamide leads to an increase in protein synthesis (e.g. keratin), has a stimulating effect on ceramide synthesis, speeds up the differentiation of keratinocytes, and raises intracellular NADP levels. In ageing skin, topical application of niacinamide improves the surface structure, smoothes out wrinkles and inhibits photocarcinogenesis Keep us updating |

Re: Uk cream .
JustaKid,
I wonder if even though niacin leads to increased protein sysnthesis, its positive contributions to skin health are even greater, resulting in the skin being more healthy, not less. Something has to explain why another poster said today that the naicin that causes a flush actually improved the skin. Just my thoughts... kebod |

Re: Uk cream .
Niacin makes u blush greatly, especially if ur a blusher!
Niacin is a vitamin. I dont think creams work on blood vessels, creams dont absorb that deep, where blood vessels lie, main use is for top layer of skin for moisturizing. anti redness cream, I dont think scientists perfected that yet, and if they did it would be by prescription first. just my thoughts.. |

Re: Uk cream .
I think that is just sales hype, especially as its a top dermatologists range.
No cream I have ever used has really reduced the redness, and I have spent thousands of pounds! |

Re: Uk cream .
FYI steroids come in cream forms, and they reduce the redness. You never know until you try i suppose.
