Re: uncontrollable blushing at random times!!

hey jason 1901, there is no need to negative towards me and my ideas. I was not claiming to be the 'be all and end all' of experts on this, but I was offering my ideas in what I thought was an open and supportive forum environment,at least that has been my experience in the past. As for insulin, my oldest brother is a type 1 diabetic and yes, he injects life saving insulin 6 times a day, and anti-biotics have helped me through illness more than once, so I fully appreciate the wonders of modern medicine, but I am increasingly sceptical about the degree to which doctors dish out prescriptions for unnatural drugs when in many (not all) cases, a natural, safer and non-addictive alternative is available. Obviously u guys aren't going to get addicted but it happens all the time in with other illnesses and that can't be denied.
All I can say is that we on this forum have a wonderful example of somebody who HAS fully recovered from KP in the form of Baronster, who inspired me to get tested for food intolerances, etc. I have a lot of these and have recently began my KP treatment with my naturopath looking at diet and mineral deficiencies (hair analysis), so i am very hopeful. I'm sorry to hear u dont have any intolerances/deficiencies as that could have provided some answers. Anyway, all I can say is good luck and have faith that there is an answer.

Yeah, i agree with the idea that diet can reduce the KP/KPRF but i do not think it can stop it all together. Although if someone were to just drink water and eat salad or something for a long time maybe it could have a great effect...but i have enough trouble staying on a diet let alone dropping an entire food group/groups altogether. I know stopping the intake of sugar has greatly reduced chance of flushing/blushing(on paxil). I don't know if eating sugar just gets my blood flowing or something because if i eat anything with sugar in it in the morning a flush/blush is almost guaranteed to come a few hours later.

I have not commented on the thread you mention above as I didn't want to be seen to be negative but I think it needs pointing out:

Baronster was in her very late 30's when she posted this (and I think she turned 40 while still posting) Myself and many other had their symptoms disappear 'naturally' with age by 40 without any changes in diet etc.

Also Baronster was extremely overweight. As she lost weight her KP improved. Yes her diet did help her lose weight but as excess weight is documented as an aggravater to KP, you cannot tell if it was the diet or weight loss alone.

If someone in their teens or early twenties with reasonably severe kp, (and also of normal weight) came on this site and said that diet alone had 'cured' them I would stand up and take notice.

I am open to this happening and would love for someone to find this to be true.

If you google KP and age or KP and weight you will find that their is a definate correlation. I think we need to realise age (and weight if you are over 30) has a big part to play in how bad your KP is.

Let us know how you get on with your treatments. I wish you good success.

Re: uncontrollable blushing at random times!!

Even though its rare to happen on the face, steroid creams DO thin the skin and result in fragile skin, reduced collagen and stretch marks (and other internal problems as well). I was on a cream for redness that contained steroids and it had very negative irreversible effects on my skin.
It never did a thing for my redness, face or body.
If someone had warned me I never would have used that c.r.a.p.! So I guess keep an open mind with other alternative treatments you see.
