Paxil worked for me also. It reduced my flushing, and I didn't worry about it as much, but it didn't reduce the base redness.

I stopped taking Paxil because of the sides: stomach pain

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

you need PDL treatments to get rid of the base redness, paxil only stops the flush/blush, which is a big difference in life.
no sides here, 6 months free flush/blush!
PDL works to lessen redness with every treatment.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

Hi,

I've been reading all the posts in this topic and are really helpful, specially Jason's treatment.

I found an information about a flush surgery in many sites (unfortunatelly I can't find it in english sites yet) .

I used google traslator to post the text in english.

Have you heard about this?

Versin traducida de http://www.elpais.com%252****iculo/sociedad/desconocida/cirugia/rubor/facial/elpepusoc/20080624elpepusoc_2/Tes

Please let me know your thoughts about this.

Thanks,
Leonardo

I have not been able to read your link, but if its the ETS sugery for hyperhidrosis, dont even think about it, because the side effects are unpredictable, and could even cause more intense flushing than before along with excessive sweating, then there is nothing that can be dont to correct it !

Jason,

Yes, it's about ETS surgery.
I've read about the possibility of side effects, but I am trying to found some testimonials of people that have been operated.

Have you guys heard some testimonials?

Thanks,
Leonardo

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

no one on this forum has had it done, and I doubt they would, thats a pretty big step to take, and there is no gurantee it works, and CAN make things worse!

why not try paxil ?

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

this thread is about Paxil, not ETS surgery, and thats mainly for excessive sweating, but its also mentioned it ould help with flushing. besides I dont think u can just find a MD, and tell him u want ETS becuase u flush alot, and he will do it, thats reserved for EXTREME cases and as a last option, not the first option. read the thread again about paxil.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

yes, I know this thread is about paxil.
Sorry to put ETS issue into this thread but I see you guys knows a lot about flush threatments.
I am thinking about to start with paxil, the problem I see with paxil are: side effects and the dependence of paxil (because if we stop paxil the flush probably come again).
Of course ETS have side effects too, and probably would be worse, but if it's work is a solution that no required eternal medication.

As you say, ETS was created for hyperhidrosis, in fact, I am talking with people that had been operated and are really happy with the results (in hyperhidrosis, I can't find flush cases yet).

In my case flush appears several times, it's annoying even thought I read worse situations.

I will let you know if I start with Paxil or if I found new info or testimonials about ETS

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

u dont have to take paxil forever, just until ur seretonin levels are normal again, when that is I dont know. but the longest Ive been off paxil was for about 4 days, sometimes I didnt refill the prescription until the last day I ran out, and felt fine without out it, but I plan to take it for about 24 months, then come off, and see.
Im telling u ETS is a BAD move! but good luck with whatever u try.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

Jason,

Thanks again for the information.
I will ask to the doctor to start with Paxil.
I found two versions of Paxil: Paxil and PaxilCR
Do you know the differences?

Leonardo

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

u dont know whats in a energy drink!
most likely caffeine, taurine, alot of sh#t to get your adrenlane pumping, and adrenaline is a natural hormone in your body which causes flushing/blushing, not to mention your taking paxil, there could be a interaction between the two. is it like a red bull type of drink ?
