In addition i did purchase some Aveeno shaving gel, the positively smooth one, which gives me a nice shave.

I just ordered the moisterizing lotion and the bar.

Yeah the Celexa doesn't fully stop the flushing but I don't think I will ever be able to go back on the Paxil. At only 10mg I had severe diarreah and extremely sharp abdominal pains with pains in my kidney areas as well.

It really scared me. I was only on it for a week too. Paxil is undoubtedly the only SSRI prescribed exclusively for anxiety, but it also has the strongest side effects if they are present. Hopefully you won't react like I did. It was weird.

Im glad u bought some or all the products I suggested, also still on paxil now 6 months 20mg daily, NO problems here!

my Aveeno shaving gel goes along way since I had the IPL hair removal done on my cheeks, no need to shave since nothing there and so smooth skin, like before puberty.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

another reason I take it at night is because it takes a couple hours or so to get in ur system, and its good for 24 hrs, so by taking it at night by morning its all good!
not to mention because at first it can make u drowsy (possible) so taken at night, but I still felt tired during the day for a couple weeks. but nothing major, very minor.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

Ash if you have tolerated Celexa for 7 weeks than you should be all good. For me though Celexa is making me completely crave alcohol and I can drink literally 15 or 16 in a night and have nothing in the morning but drowsiness. No hangover.

Also I noticed Im gaining weight pretty fast which too me isn't that bad because Im in good shape but when I started the Celexa I weighed and even 185 and now Im 206 on an empty stomach. Im pretty tall so as long as I don't go over 215 I'll be happy. If I do, Im really gonna have to lay off the beer and carbs.

But seriously though, it was the hangovers that kept me from drinking too much before Celexa but now that they are nonexistent the only thing stopping me from getting ****faced every night is the fact that it costs so much. And that its taxing my liver. Other than that I can outdrink anyone with the tolerance Celexa gives me.

It could be worse though, but I haven't drank in 3 days and Im feeling better now. The alcohol decreases the effect of the drug and also increases anxiety and flushing. But the whole part about my wicked tolerance on Celexa is completely true and there many others with the same deal.

I wish there was some scientific research on why it does it though. It seems interesting. I guess the boosted seratonin decreases the drunkeness but the lack of hangovers puzzles me. I can drink all night on Celexa and wake up with nothing but a slight thirst.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

what I meant by this was what does it have to do with paxil ? all your mentioning is drinking and craving drinking, you cant make yourself not drink ? yeah, if you take an SSRI with in a couple hours of drinking you get drunk or buzzed alot faster, I dont know why , I dont care, u can just take the med at a different time if drinking is so important to you, or cut back on drinking. It says it right on the bottle "dont drink alcohol with medication" I dont atleast not within a couple hours of drinking it. you know over the counter allergy meds make u drunk faster if taking them and drinking too, its an interaction of alcohol and medication, just like when people pop xzanax or percocet and drink to get totaly bombed, dangerous but u get the picture.

Dude I don't mean to sound like an ass but did you even read my posts?

I'm saying that the SSRI is giving me the exact opposite effect. I have taken it numerusly times a couple hours before drinking the night away and I don't even get drunk.

Last week I took it around 5:00pm and went out to a nearby bar around 8:00 and I drank 3 Long Islands, 2 yagerbombs, and about 5 beers all in maybe a little over 2 hours and drove my ass home fine. And the weirdest thing is I had no hangover!

I mean I have always been able to drink like a fish but this Celexa makes me drink almost twice as much because I never seem to find my limit. I just find myself drinking until so late that I have to stop so I can go to bed.

I have read other people's posts that have said the same thing too.

SSRI's make can lightweights drink like HW's.
