re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

My son is starting Paxil 10mg 1x day - prescribed by his GP - will keep you updated.

We were also informed that a derm who specializes in "vascular" problems is joining the staff soon and his GP felt she was very good, so we are planning to go see her. My son has Raynauds in addition to KPRF so it will be interesting to see what she says and if there is any correlation between the two.

Do many of you have Raynauds too?

Blessings

Helpless mom, if 10mg does not work within a week or so, bump to 20mg because 10mg is really half a dose, I take it at night a couple hours before bed because it can make u tired the first week.

jason - he is supposed to take it in the A.M. - what are your thoughts on that? I questioned the Dr. about it making him sleepy but he said it shouldn't. My son originally wanted something to knock him out to sleep at night as he can't get to sleep and wakes up several times during the night. Did you notice a difference in your sleep pattern?

Thumbs up re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

yes, take it at night. It makes you sleep very sound, a more comfortable sleep. I take it about an hour or 2 before bed, since its possible it can cause drowsiness but really it just makes u tired so my doctor told me to take it before bed, it stays in ur system so theres no reason not to take it before bed. it even says on the bottle (may cause drowsiness) u wake up feeling refreshed like u slept when ur were a kid, more confident and no blushing or flushing but on 20mg. I dont wanna say it makes u feel care free but it kind of does. before bed is fine to take. 10mg was not enough for me to stop the flushing and blushing so I take the full dose 20mg, instead of breaking them in half and take 10mg.

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

pure and simple paxil 20mg works, TO ENTIRELY STOP FLUSHING AND BLUSHING. then treat your face however you want PDL, alternative treatments, etc.. but the F&B will be gone! also note hot temperatures, warm rooms, cold temperatures, sunlight, does not cause a flush or blush either while on paxil.

P.S. cure 101 went to hell, he was banned for posting a joke thread.

Jason, how long did it take for the paxil to start working completely for you? I am on day 6 and have noticed an improvement (about 50%) and was wondering if it becomes more effective?

thanks

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

yes i have started taking 20mg for the last 3 mornings....i fail to see how an anti-anxiety medicine would stop flushing as it is a sensitivity to light and heat that normally causes my flushing i think?

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

camco, I dont know how an anti anxiety medicine stops flushing from sensitivity to light and heat, but it just does. it is the heat that causes flushing and blushing not the light just like the heat u feel in ur face when flushed. do u sometimes fear being in warm sunlight or warm room because you might get real red?

flushing and blushing for whatever reason comes from the same place in the body. I take mine at night as prescribed by my doctor not in the morning. try taking it before u go to bed, and stop waiting for something to happen. relax

not so much a sensitivty to light but that is where i get flushed the most...in the heat and the bright light...and yes i do fear these situations....i fear most situations where i think i may flush

What difference does taking it at night make?

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

you will feel a little different at first and u adjust, take at night before bed because it can also make u drowzy. if u fear situations where u think u may flush, then thats how an anti axiety medicine stops flushing, by removing the anxiety that causes the flushing and blushing. flushing is the warm feeling, and blushing is the beet redness to occur at the same time.
