I'm trying to point to Jason that some things obvious to one may be not so obvious to another so he should allow everyone to express their opinion not criticize them and not force his opinion.

wish me luck!

Yeah I just had my second PDL treatment today. Since I bruised horribly at 10.65 J she set it lower and stacked a bunch of times instead. I only bruised a tiny bit where the bigger vessels were but I am pretty swollen. I hope my insurance covers it again cuz it only cost 57$ but without it it is around 250$.

And Jason, I had to switch to Lexapro because the Paxil was giving me horrible diarrhea that I haven't had since I got food posioning.

The lexapro is great though and since my mother has been on Celexa for 12+ years with no problems I should be fine since it is just a slightly more refined version.

Also if you guys experience any sexual sideeffects you might want to switch to Lexapro because I read it has alot more mild side effects compared to other SSRI's.

wow, no wonder u bruised horribly, 10.65 joules is a very high setting.

stacking method is done at 7.0-7.5 joules, less energy but more pulses, thats what my derm has been doing.

the swelling will go away in about 2-3 days, but u should ice it within the first 24 hours.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

hey guys, im looking for some advice

as you may know ive been on citalopram for 3 weeks now.

first two weeks were fine, but the last week i have noticed random blushing , especially right now, its 3.40 pm and my left side is flushed very red, i dont know why.

should i switch over to paxil ? will it make a difference ?

will i be able to switch over..just like that?? please advise as i am very curious to know if i can start paxil the day after i stop citalopram.

i have an appointment tomorow with the doctor, i did plan on telling her i wanted to carry on with citalopram , but im considering asking for paxil now.

do you think i'l have more success with paxil ?

if i switched over to paxil, would i have 2 days of hell like i did with citalopram ? as in , feeling like an alien for the first two days ?

What is the brand name of citalopram? If its a SSRI than you can switch easily. My body reacted badly with Paxil the 1st week and I had to switch to Lexapro which is a refined Celexa and is the newest of SSRI's. Try Paxil 1st and if you can't tolerate it, try Lexapro or Celexa. There all the same class of drugs. I took Paxil for a week and have been on Lexapro for 4 days and my flushing has miraculously vanished. I still feel like I am sometimes but when I look in the mirror Im not all red.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

Thats wierd. I've been taking Celexa 20mg for a week now and I haven't flushed at all.

Try the paxil and see if it helps but it does have the most severe side effects and withdrawal of all SSRI's. That doesn't mean you WILL experience them but if you do you will know it. I wonder why Celexa isn't working for you.

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

ask ur doctor first before switching, I cant tell u yes or no because Ive only taken paxil from the begining which is working like a charm, and has the most effective relief of anxiety related symptoms over other SSRI's, and was the first of its kind, others are (no offense) generic copycats of paxil (Paroxetine)

the severe side effects and withdrawls are from taking a high dose, even though Dave to the B expericned diarrhea from a smaller dose.

Dave to the B can u post that excerpt from the label of paxil again ?

Even when it said that discontinuation should be tapered off instead of cold turkey it said that only when you get to 20mg daily should you completely stop so really for us it wouldn't even matter if we went cold turkey!

Right now I do feel cloudy but it said 10 days is the avergage window for drug sustainment. Im only on 10mg now but Im gonna up it to 20mg next week and I'll let you all know what the deal is with my flushing.

I felt cloudy the first 3 days, then settled in nicely and stopped the flush/blush even up till now.
from Dec 07--May08 flush/blush free!

Re: Flushing and Blushing treated with Paxil (paroxetine)

I've been feelin fine on the Celexa and even though I have a prescription for Lexapro Im gonna stay on the Celexa for a while.

Your Dr. seems like a jerk the way she put it. I mean they are the same class of drugs with only slight molecular differences in structure so really switching over is not a big deal.

Like I said, I took Paxil for a week str8, then immediately switched to Celexa with no problems at all.

The thing about SSRI's is we all react differently to them and the key is to find ONE that you can tolerate well and feel its effects working to your benefit.

If your looking into Paxil stay away from paxilprogress.com. I shouldn't even have said this but the website is very discouraging and is filled with alot of whackjobs. I found it by searching the drug and the people on there are not happy with it but I think they were really messed up to begin with. My mother has been on Celexa for 12+ years with absolutely no problems.

It's been 5 weeks since i first started Paxil. And for the first 1-2wks, i was worried that the drug was having no effect on my Anxiety, Depression...etc.
Just a few days later i was feeling the true effect of Paxil.
I think i will have to upload a new pic as i feel my skin is better than the one i posted earlier in this thread. I'm not far from starting my PDL treatment, so i'm excited about that...
