Thats the thing, I just started Mon. And about the half life and all that, I can't help it. Im going into Nurse Anesthesiology and I take alot of interest in any pharmacology info.

I noticed by reading the information sheet that alot of the major side effects are mainly at high doses and the suicide risks are mainly for people who are treating MDD so they are at risk either way they look at it.

Even when it said that discontinuation should be tapered off instead of cold turkey it said that only when you get to 20mg daily should you completely stop so really for us it wouldn't even matter if we went cold turkey!

Right now I do feel cloudy but it said 10 days is the avergage window for drug sustainment. Im only on 10mg now but Im gonna up it to 20mg next week and I'll let you all know what the deal is with my flushing.

high energy setting would be 8.0 and up.
there gonna test patch me at different settings 1st. i think there gonna see which how effective the laser is on my skin at each level. but i intend on using 7+ on all of my treatment, i don't mind pain...or side effects...i guess at some point there will be a limit, for example they won't go past 10.0.

It does not hurt, believe me, right before the laser zaps u are sprayed with a cold misty spray, which keeps u from feeling pain. but at 10.0 I dont know.
and ususally which ever setting is working for u, they tend to just stick with that setting not to cause problems (bruising, pain)

anything below 7.0 wont do much, if anything!

what result are you hoping to achieve with PDL?
And how effective has each setting been?

Re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

complete clearing, or 95%, at about 75% now along with the help of paxil.

very effective, as I said before it goes away in incriments with each treatment.

dont forget to have the derm use the stacking method during each treatment, if he does not know about, explain it to him! dont be afraid to open ur mouth and tell him ur worries, expectations etc...

Re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

When i went for my consultation, she told me that she recommends a course of 8 treatments (i'm going for total clearance as well, or as close as i can get) i can tell why the stacking method is good, zapping twice rather than once is more likely to take the redness to normal skin colour.
Maybe i could have the stacking method used on treatments 2,4,6,8. and just the normal method on 1,3,5,7. (if i feel the need, i will have more treatments)

yeah u can but why not do them all stacked?

u might have to ask and see if ur derm is familiar with the method.

Re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

Hey Jason. I have been experiencing facial flushing since I started on different acne medications back in November. It has gotten worse and worse over time now. I have gotten off all medications now for about 1 month and 1 week. I have been hoping that as long as I stay off all acne medications my body will return back to normal. But i'm so scared that this is never going to stop.

My flushing is sooo severe. I flush in the mildest heat, exercising, warm showers, when I'm angry, stressed, upset, or sometimes just for no reason at all. It covers my whole face and ears. Ths flushing is a deep red and burns. My skin feels like it's on fire.

Recently I felt like it was getting soooo much better... but the past few days have been soooo awful. I donno what to think anymore.

Should I try Paxil??? Does what I explained sound like the same flushing you delt with???

How does Paxil make you feel? I'm scared to take something that will change me. You know? I want to be the same old me... just with out flushing like this all the time. I hate it sooo much. It makes me feel awful and so depressed.

What do you think? Should I give my body more time off acne medications? And see if it will go away on its own???

Thanks for your help. Sorry for all the questions.

Re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

well i'm trying to get it funded by the NHS. Otherwise they do a course of 3 treatments for £747. Buying each session seperate would cost £299 each.
They also do a 12 months interest free offer.

i first contacted my GP. and told him about my skin condition, and asked if it can be funded what with it been on my face, causing pain and causing psychological problems. e.g. Social Phobia, Depression. He said that he'll look into it. Thats as far as i have got so far. At the Sk:n clinic where i'll be getting it done they said they take GP referrals.
Your best bet is go see your GP and tell him how the condition is making you feel mentally and physically and ask him if it can be funded. Then contact the clinic where ever you want to get it done and ask them if they take GP referrals. If they say yes then pass the details of the place to your GP.

(make sure the clinic use the VBeam PDL)
