Hey Jason did you actually use the laser for your KP bumps and redness? See Im getting the laser for my redness caused by years of flushing and my mild SD. But I also have KP on the backs of my arms that is annoying.

Should I ask to get lasered there or is IPL better. There is no IPL where I currently live that I know of.

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

well if there is no IPL near u why would u ask for it?
never heard of anyone getting there arms treated with laser for kp bumps, thats getting a liitle extreme! I dont care about kp bumps on the body, or think a derm would even do it there too much time and would be very expensive considering how many bumps there are, if it would even work, or come right back!

I only had PDL done on my cheeks for redness thats all it will treat nothing else but redness, and I had IPL for hair removal done on my cheeks before the PDL treatments to remove the hair which also resulted in smooth skin no more bumps, since no more hair for keratin to build up around.

forget about your KP, just focus on ur facial SD and KPRF.
just wash ur body with a mild fragrance free soap, I use Irish Spring (icy blast) and a loofah, works or me for KP.

Went for a consultation on Sunday. Went well. They use the Vbeam Pulse Dye. And they said it's the best laser for my condition in their opinion. seeing my GP on today in 2hrs. To tell him that the Anti-Depressants are going well.

Krissy,

How is the paxil helping with the flushing/blushing episodes?

Also, do you run or exercise?

no i don't exercise at the moment. stopped because of the flushing and blushing...but i plan to get a membership at a local gym now thaat i have some control.
I guess the flushing and blushing is caused by the mind, fearing these two facors only causes them to happen. Negative thoughts aren't just removed, they are replaced by posiive...even though the condition is still there, i feel happy to be alive and i appreciate life...i recommend Paxil to anyone having negative thoughts.

ask the derm to set the joules at 7.0-7.5 for the PDL (v-beam) treatments! ( jewels )

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

Thats good to hear Krissy

5-Htp had the same effect on me although I never tried Paxil I'm sure it works tho

I was more social and not caught off guard by things
But I just want it to stop when I am too hot in the gym or running etc...

It is weird tho cuz I was in the mall and had like an attack or blushing episode and my face went on fire then it just stopped and somehow I didnt get negative and my face went back to normal lol I imagine what the looks on people's face's must have been
I went dark red then like 30 seconds it was back to normal

Anyways I need a tan bad and I am gettin PDL done in a week does it seem like a good idea?

Yeah PDL is your best bet. i guess IPL made your skin smooth. but for the redness i'd say PDL...and i'm sure Jason will back me on that one, just like i back him on Paxil and it's effectiveness.

pretty simple they start at 1.0 and up, but any more than 7.5 and u will bruise. I had 2 of mine done at 7.0, and 3 at 7.5, my next one is may 19th, and might go to 8.0 I might bruise but . I never bruised with the 7.0 or 7.5!

high energy setting would be 8.0 and up.

DO NOT TAN BEFORE OR AFTER PDL treatments!!!
worry about tanning later on, while getting ur PDL treatments, 1 treatment will not do it!
if your skin is tan PDL can have bad effects on ur skin, or probably be denied by the derm for treatment.

SO WAIT!!!

I must have had it done at like 9.0 the first time because my nose looked like a blueberry muffin for a week. But I read that bruising actually has the most effective results. Next time Im gonna ask for a lower setting though because the bruises you get are so dark its ridiculous.

Jason, if you were to miss a dose or 2 how long would it take for your blushing to come back? I read that Paxil's half life is 21 hours so after 2 days its gone from your system. Can you miss a dose and still feel the benefits for a while after?

I am just curious because for example in Aug Im going down to VA for a huge concert and if I took Paxil the night before I wouldn't take the night of the show because I would have a few drinks and I would be out all night. So would I be flushing the next day or would it still be effective for a little while?
