Just got back from doctors.

She wouldnt give me PAXIL claiming it wouldnt effect my flushing at all.

Instead she gave me two weeks of CLONIDINE...which im gonna give a go, see what it does.

She recons if still no improvement, she may let me have PAXIL, i have to fill in a questionaire to say how depressed i get, etc.

heya jason i got a two month prescription for Seroxat 20mg (Peroxetine). Doctor says it takes about 2-3wks to see results, so am gonna give this wonder drug a go.

what exactly did you say to your DOC ?

Cos mine wouldnt give me the seroxat.....!

tell them u have social phobia (meeting new people,feeling like someone is always staring at you, embarrased around alot of people. clonidne works but not a huge difference, I found u have to take a little more as the weeks go by to get the effect, Paxil is 10 times better and I thing safer. because clonidine (proplanol) can mess with ur blood pressure.

never heard of seroxat, is it a generic form of paxil ?

yeh i told her i suffer from social phobia, but said come back in 2 weeks and we'l look at paxil if the clonidne doesnt work

i don't socialise with people and when theres family celebrations i sit in my room alone, when i'm in public places i start to sweat and i feel my face starting to flush. that i'm paranoid people are looking at me and judging me. look at the symptoms of social phobia.

Seroxat is the brand name giving to peroxetine in the UK, just like Paxil is the brand name in the US. Exactly the same drug, same ingredients. He tried putting me on beta blockers but i demanded this drug.

Krissy I got the IPL done and my face is very smooth

It helps a little bit I'd say 10-20% as far as flushing and blushing goes

It's hot here and I don't get as red as I usually do but you still get that little flush/blush coming just not as bad

I also use Rosaliac and La Roche spray something as creams and sunblock
Pretty good stuff


Let me know how that stuff works out for you tho

results may be more clear after after 2-4wks after treatment. it's 10-20% now, but who knows what the results will be in a month or so.
Yeah sure i will. had my first tablet about 30mins ago. am gonna take them at night like Jason.

Khrissy, dont go and keep looking in the mirror every hour, just give it a few days. take about 2 hours before u sleep. the first 2-3 days I felt a little out of it when I woke up, and a little tired at the end of the day for the first 2 weeks, but it goes away completly. I can actually wear a sweatshirt in the sun 75-80 degrees and not flush anymore thats how much it stopped the flush/blush for me. u may yawn a little more to which is normal, its anxiety leaving ur body in a way, it alows u to relax more, not focus on things so much, not be secluded, and relaxes ur central nervous system which turns off the flush/blush switch.

He wanted to do IPL to get my face ready for PDL

He did say that he does IPL then PDL then IPL then PDL to get good results

IPL had my face looking like a tomato like bad

It took me like an hour for my face to get back to tone

Hi - just curious - did derm sat reasons way he alternates PDL and IPL???

thats what my derm wanted to try, but I had made my appointments for PDL in advance because he gets booked fast, and I seen way bettter results with PDL then the IPL and just stuck with PDL I told him, and IPL hurts compared to PDL.

am using seroxat to give the derm a clear view of what he has to zap...coz i think my condition is worsened by my anxiety, etc.
Also...Is it OK to still Oil Pull or will it draw the contents of the tablet out. (if thats a stupid question just say) lol

He said that PDL has a smaller laser and it's not as broad as IPL so he will use PDL for more targeted areas and IPL for the general cheeks to smooth out my face
My face is a shade lighter and less red and very smooth but not anything crazy

you CANNOT tan in between IPL and PDL treatments at all! u should not be in the sun that much either while getting treatments, ur derm should have told u. well from experince ur derm is going to ask u if u notice a change and expectations with every treatment, Im sticking with PDL as I see its more effective for KPRF and I told my derm that I dont see any difference with IPL, I had about 7 IPL treatments before I went to my new and current derm who also did IPL but no results, I only did 3 IPL treatments for hair removal on my cheeks which turned my skin on my cheeks into baby skin (smooth). and stuck with PDL for the past 4 months (4 treatments) and going the end of april and end of may to be done! total (6) PDL. IPL is pretty good for rosacea than PDL.
