I'm not too familiar with getting prescriptions

What kind of doctor do I go 2? Cuz I really only go to my family pediatric doctor since I was little.

What do I have to say to make them give it to me? Lack of interest in things that used to be fun....Not happy...etc etc?

i'm just gonna tell my doctor that i've alredy tried it and that it helps. coz theres a shop online where you can buy without prescription.

Paroxetine is primarily used to treat the symptoms of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social phobia/social anxiety disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
It was the first antidepressant formally approved in the United States for the treatment of social anxiety disorder.
According to the prescribing information provided by the manufacturer of Paxil brand of paroxetine GlaxoSmithKline and approved by the FDA, the effectiveness of paroxetine in major depressive disorder has been proven by six placebo-controlled clinical trials. For panic disorder, three 10-12-week studies indicated paroxetine superiority to placebo. Similarly, three 12-week trials for adult outpatients with social anxiety disorder demonstrated better response to paroxetine than to placebo.

Chances are you'll suffer from one of those due to this condition. i know i have Social Anxiety Disorder, Depression.

yeah. it's proper term is paroxetine, but alot of people know it by Paxil on here. if you use the proper term your GP will think you've looked into, therefore he's more likely to prescribe it.

Pronounced: par-ox-e-teen

Don't buy prescription meds on line - you may end up with more than just KPRF to worry about.

As we have discussed numerous times on the board all prescription meds have their side effects. To minimise the risk of these I believe you need to consult with your health professional first. It may be that there is something particular to you that makes you more vulnerable to the side effects. (i.e. a family history of something).

Oh i've never bought any tablets off the internet. And i don't recommend anyone to. Am just using that as a last resort incase the doctor tries to change my mind about it.

the only hope i have is with Paxil and PDL...i suffered a terrible flush today when i got home home (a one that drove me to tears, and i'm not afraid to admit it...i feel so helpless) it felt like a burn you'd get from touching an iron or something really hot. I can't wait til friday to talk to my GP about putting me on Paxil and about laser treatment. Money is not an issue anymore...i just want my life back.

another example is its getting warmer now (spring) today was near 75 degrees, but the morning is still kinda cold, so when u get up ur dressed for winter, but through out the day as it warms up normally I would get flushed from the hot heat or in the sun, but no more with taking Paxil, and u know when ur sleeping on ur side and u wake up and 1 side of ur face is even more red from laying on it, no more from taking Paxil and PDL, which imrovements tend to show a few weeks after treatment. no more heat or cold weather flush, or waking up from sleeping on side flush.

i'm sooo getting this. my parents don't think they'll prescribe me it, they think they'll refer me to someone and anylise me before they prescribe any anti-depressant.
But a dunno, am hoping he does. thats why am gonna tell a little white lie and say i've already taking it. A wouldn't normally lie, especially to get drugs from a doctor...but am desperate.

anti-depressants are prescribed for off label uses too, meaning for other conditons than depression. Im using it for KPRF and the flush/blush, but its also intended for social phobia, panic attacks, as well as different levels of depression (major or minor).
explain to the doctor u have social phobia and erythephobia (fear of blushing), which is not lying.
