KPRF Article

Hi Guys - this article has been linked to before by Annuu but I am not sure if the link is still working.

The article is now posted on the WWW and is found at:

Arch Dermatol -- Keratosis Pilaris Rubra: A Common but Underrecognized Condition, December 2006, Marqueling et al. 142 (12): 1611

I have a slightly fuller version of the article showing results for 24 patients - this is in PDF format. If you want a copy of this just ask and I will send it.

The article is full of info and there is also a contact address for one of the authors.

Qeustion to you, Anne

I have seen that you are very familiar with about everything that concerns kp.
Now I wonder...
Did you ever try ATOPALM MLE (face cream or intensive cream) as a way to reduce redness on the cheeks.
Someone on this site said it did something for him but I opened their site and it looks more like a scam to try and take money out of my then like anything else.
If you know anything about it please post.
You should know that I have great confidence in what to write

Re: KPRF Article

Sorry I have never heard of or tried that cream before.

I use a retin-a cream on my face which helps the overall texture of the skin. However my KPRF has faded with age and my facial skin is not so sensitive as it used to be when I had KPRF.

In theory an AHA or retin-a cream should help KPRF as it helps with the build up of keratin in the hair follicule.

However as both these types of cream irritate the skin they may cause the facial skin to become redder initially.

Another cream recommended by derms to a few here was azelaic acid - you may want to do a search on that and find out results.
