I have had KP on my arms, legs, butt, AND KPRF since I was 2. I have it pretty badly, but somehow I managed to stumble across something that has helped my kprf in just the past month.
2 months ago I ran out of my cream and face wash, and decided to try a new brand. I picked up Cetaphil cream and also the cleanser. I did not think much of it because it literally has no harsh ingredients. I using the cleanser and cream at night right before bed and also in the morning before I put on my makeup. I noticed that within only 3 weeks the bumps had diminished 70% and the constant redness on my cheeks calmed down about 50% (flushing during exercise or embarrassment did not change though). However, I decided to go back to my old cream in the morning because it has a more matte look, but after 2 days of neglecting the cetaphil in the morning, my bumps and redness started to come back. So I switched back, and after a few days I was back to happiness. My face looks clearer and glowing all over now, and I am just happy that my kprf has improved. My next test will be to see if it has any improvement on the kp on the rest of my body. I have no clue why cetaphil works, and it is probably one of those things that works for one person but yet no one else can see improvements. But hey, it's about 4 or 5 dollars, and only 3 weeks of using it alone. Just make sure those are the ONLY TWO PRODUCTS you are using on your face (where the kprf is) if you hope for results. I used another cream over the kprf for a few days along with the cetaphil and it made my kp come back. So just use the one cream. I am hoping this works for you guys. I figured I would share just in case. Let me know! |

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
I use the Gentle Skin Cleanser for all skin types, and the Moisturizing Lotion afterwards. Thats all it says on each bottle if that helps?

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
what would you like me to change it to?
I didn't take a before picture, I wasn't planning on this effecting my kprf at all. I'm sorry, I am just trying to help others if they want it. |

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
how about posting any picture taken before you started the cetaphil cleanser, and take one now as the after pic.

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
I've used Cetaphil for years and it did nthing for my KPRF. Its ingredients are too gentle to fix it.. perhaps you just had dry skin. Nothing in Cetaphil is exclusive to Cetaphil.. you kind find a few lotions almost 100% identical in their ingredients.

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
Missliss,
After you have read many of the posts here, you will come to see that products and remedies that work for one person may not work for another. Perhaps this is because there are different causes for KP, therefore, different remedies. I think we should be glad Jigfeet is sharing with us something that helped her KP by 70% after 3 weeks use of Cetaphil, even if it didn't help you. Perhaps others here will try it and be helped also. kebod |

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
chemically speaking there is nothing IN cetaphil that would fix kp. ask a doctor. ask a dermatologist. it helps dry skin but there is nothing in its ingredients that is "active" enough to help kp. sounds like someone was self diagnosing....
as for different causes for kp...no. kp is caused by the over production of keratosis in the hair follicle. again...scientific fact. |

Re: THIS has cleared up my kprf!!!
It is also a fact that Cetaphil helped Jigfeet. Many of us have already realized that doctors offer very little help when it comes to treating KP. That is why we treat ourselves. That is why we have this forum.
Yes, KP is caused by over-production of keratosis, but what causes that? kebod |
