laser hair removal to help KPRF?

I was just thinking:
If KPRF is a condition where hair follicles get plugged with keratin and then get irritated, then, if you used laser hair removal to destroy the hair follicles altogether, wouldn't that stop the irritation? There would be nothing left to get plugged and irritated.

Makes sense right? What do you girls and guys think?

That's a great idea! I hadn't thought about that. I am going to research it on the internet and see what specialists say.

Great except you would probably never have facial hair again. Not that big of a trade-off for having cheeks that aren't red, but I would want to know that it worked before I did something like that.

it takes away the bumps and makes skin smoother, had 1 treatment done and getting 2 more, only on my cheeks so basically i dont have to shave my beard area in my cheeks just have to shave moustache area under lip& chin area and under my neck area. you dont get them bumps that turn white in the winter time anymore eiher just smooth skin but still red. i plan to do PDL treatments to work on the redness after im done with IPL treatments to remove the hair. i figure removing the hair takes away one of the main elements of KPRF. then work on the redness which is inflammation with PDL how wver many treatments it takes, but atleast the hair wont be in the way of PDL treatments, just focus on the redness. also you can get a prescription from your derm for EMLA cream which numbs your skin for up to 2 hours before treatments.

before any comments are made men have to shave on top of KPRF which just irritates when ever you shave so i think men have it worse then women for that reason. think back if your a man did your cheeks look better before you grew hair there and began to shave (puberty) hair removal by IPL or diode laser can get them back to that stage.

Re: laser hair removal to help KPRF?

Jason,
Thanks so much for your reply! It is great to know that someone already tried this, and now we know what the results are.

When you say smooth, is it smoother than before or as smooth as normal skin, like ,say, on your forehead?

That's true that having the hair removed will at least eliminate the extra irritation from shaving.

Would you say that the redness is less than before since you don't have to shave anymore?

Also, how much did the hair removal procedure cost?

Thanks!

Re: laser hair removal to help KPRF?

I totally agree with shaving irritiating KPRF. The thing I don't agree with is getting laser hair removal done for the sole purpose of the facial hair not being in the way when getting PDL. Why not just shave a few minutes before getting it done?

I know that if you got laser hair removal on your cheeks you wouldn't have the problem of irritation after shaving. But for me, I'm usually fine 12 hours after shaving so it's not that big of an issue for me.

Re: laser hair removal to help KPRF?

normal skin, but i still have 2 more treatments or maybe 1 treatment depends how much hair is left after next treatment. it feels like it did before you hit puberty when u have no hair growth. because PDL will zap your hair as its treating the redness and leave you with patchy beard areas, which was my outcome after a few IPL treatments for redness that didnt do anything for redness but took away hair in areas treated, so i finished removing hair intentionally not to have a patchy beard area , it looks funny some areas no hair even after u shave you could still see that some areas had no hair. thats my opinon, so im treating hair removal, then redness. IPL for hair then PDL for redness. by the way have u ever seen Keanu Reeves beard grown in, looks ridiculous (patchy as hell) but he gets away with it as a celebrity.
