Concerning laser treatment...

I have been thinking heavily about getting laser treatment for my EXTREMELY red and bumpy face. But my main concern is that I am afraid that something might go wrong in the process and the laser will leave permenant scars or make my face worse than it already is. What are the chances that the laser treatment will leave me in a worse condition than i already am? and also is there any chance that it will cause pigmentation changes? Please respond, I'm really eager to hear from some of you

Agenda have a good read of this forum . anne s had success with PDL . If any doubt go for a little test patch , it show you what to expect , how your skins reacts and possible results. general feeling seems to be 3 to 4 pdl treatments required but recovery time between them is in the order of weeks . Good luck .

Hi Agenda - I didn't respond earlier as I no longer had KPRF at the time of being treated with the candela vbeam laser.

I had two PDL treatments for the redness caused by atrophoderma vermiculata and ulerythema ophryogenes. (another two types of keritinization disorders)

I am of european descent with reasonably light skin and the laser left no scarring or pigmentation changes for me.

With regards to PDL treatment for KPRF I am not 100% sure what the results will be. My redness was purely from damaged blood vessels whereas KPRF has surface redness from blocked hair follicules also.

Dick has recently had treatment with a 'fraxel' laser - refer thread 'odd advice' - you may want to wait and see his final results as his derm recommended the fraxel laser over the PDL for his KPRF.
