You see , I too believe this redness on my face is somehow connected to the food intake. I underwent some tests and it turned out im allergic to eggs . Thing is , I never noticed any sort of reaction on my face/body after having eggs , which made me quite perplexed. Therefore , I believe perhaps the yolk-albumin might be causing this redness on my face. I started reducing egg intake , I haven't completely cut it down though. Now after 2 weeks , the redness on my face has decreased by about 10% . It's still ugly and horrible but at least its intensity decreased a bit. Further , I no longer get any "flushing" attacks , which makes me feel very relieved. I also noticed that after washing and then drying my face with water the redness intensity decreases significantly but temporarily ( 5-10 mins max ). When I wake up , the redness is also at minimum. I have also stopped using any sort of creams/lotions/mosturizers/etc.

Now how can I exactly determine if I'm sensitive to other types of food ?
Well yes

Hmm...

why is it that redness is at minimum late at night and early in the morning??? thats something to work with, maybe we should work out what happens to the body at these times.

thanks for your input , drummond. I gues I'm gonna try my best to isolate the types of food I'm eating and see the effect within 2-3 weeks. Was there any specific diet you followed inorder to get rid of your red cheeks ?

thanks for the info drummond , i'm gonna cut down the wheat-dairy products , but fat-oil free as well ? this is impossible dude. I dont think our bodies function the same way , but im pretty sure it's either the wheat / milk + eggs that's aggrevating my red cheeks. You're right about acidic beverages , they seem to be no good either. I decided to have chicken + salad for this whole week and see the result. I dont drink alcohol a lot either. I live in Lebanon btw ... difficult to believe , i know ...

. If you must have oil then perhaps you would hopefully have the olive oil. But fat is the largest contributor to your problem. So you must do as you must.

I have noticed the same thing. My arms are less red in the mornings when I first get up. I start to get my hopes up that I have done something right and as the day goes by, it just seems to get worse.

I've had KPRF for 6 years, since I was 16. I hate it. I've tried multiple sessions of 2 different lasers - V beam and IPL- and they hurt like hell. Slightly reduced the redness for a short period of time.

I agree that we have to attack the symptom rather the effects. How to unplug follicles? Nobody seems to know. I have just started using retin-a, along with alpha hydroxy acid in the morning. The doctor says it will take 3-6 months to begin to show a difference. But if this will help attack the cause, it's worth a try.

I use retin-a cream on my face every couple of days and it has helped the texture of the skin tremendously. My KPRF is almost gone with age but the retin-a has helped keep any stray kp bumps away.

I have always wondered what effect AHA or retin-a would have on active KPRF.

Are you getting much irritation with the creams?

It does take months to see results as the acid slowly strips away the keratin

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress

do you think retin-a could reduce redness or just bumps? I don't have any bumps on my face, just the red cheeks, chin and eyebrows.

have you had a proper diagnosis from a dermatologist?

When you say redness on the eyebrows - do you have hair loss also?

Retin-a and AHA's should theoretically help with the bumps as they unclog the blocked hair follicule. With just plain redness I am not sure - you may find it just irritates the skin more.

I am wondering whether you have just KPRF

Sorry for all the questions

I haven't been diagnosed by a derm yet. I've just assumed it was KPRF and not UO because I don't seem to have lost any hair on the eyebrows. They are a bit itchy from time to time though.
