sorry, i don't have pictures. three years ago (i'm 30 now), i started getting a rough red streak on my cheek which made me look like i only put blush on one side. over time it spread downward, covering the rest of my cheek, but not only was that area red and rough, my pores had white things coming out of them.

over the past year (i was pregnant during this time, if that helps), the redness/roughness has managed to spread below my jawline, behind my ear, towards my chin, and starting towards my upper lip. i am terrified that it will continue to spread, eventually across my whole face.

i saw a dermatologist a couple years ago who told me it was rosacea. i was 90% sure he was wrong but i didn't bother arguing. i recently saw another dermatologist who told me it's kp and said that my pores were white since the hair follicles were plugged.

i've tried exfoliating and moisturizing my skin. neither worked. the dermatologist has me on salicylic (sp) acid lotion twice a day, which has helped with the roughness a little bit and gotten rid of the white pores but there is no continuing improvement. i'm supposed to go back to the doc for a followup appt next week but am not quite sure what to do since i haven't continued to improve.

it does sound like kp. i used to have lots of white bumps on my cheeks, but i don't get those too much anymore. now it's just the red patches -- i have them on both sides, worse on the left, long red rectangles. the skin closer to my ear is smooth and normal. i use liquid foundation to cover the red patches and it works pretty well. people who see me without makeup often comment on my healthy glow, which cracks me up because i know it's just a skin condition.
