Kp connection to hormones
It is obvious that kp has some connection to hormones. Almost everyone who has it got it between the ages of 13-16 where puberty starts. I have also heard of women getting kp when pregnant because their bodies are going through big hormonal changes. I think this is partially the reason why kp gets better with age for some people ( mid 20s usually). We all agree that kp is genetic, just like most disorders. There is something in our genes, either from mother or father, that is the problem. However, this problem does not arise until triggered by hormones. So we ask ourselves, could any type of oral supplement help regulate hormones to help treat kp? I dont know, what do you think?

Often wondered the same thing myself Dick. I had perfect skin until I hit 14 then my eyebrows began to fall out and my cheeks became red and inflamed!
In my 30's though the whole thing began to slow down and now at mid 40's the KP bumps are all but gone I wonder though if 'mucking' around with hormones might lead to other more serious side effects though. I have never read anywhere of an explanation as to why KP and especially the rarer KP variants kick in with avengance at puberty. It would certainly be interesting to understand more of the hormonal side of things. |

It's interesting, because allergies also tend to become overexaggerated with hormonal imbalance. Not sure how much that has to with it, but it could possibly be making the KP worse. I stopped eating Dairy and eggs altogether already I they will only make things worse.
My kprf kicked in when i was about 17. My cheeks slowly turned red which I didn't even notice until they actually started burning like mad. I swam in a chlorine pool almost every single day also, which dried out my skin like crazy and only made things worse (btw, for those few hockey fans here, Tomas Kaberle and Ruslan Fedotenko seem to have KPRF and both are doing just fine if you ask me) |

I've had it for my whole life, covering most of my body and I don't think I had raging hormones at 5, though I could be mistaken I guess. It could be hormonal but I think some of us were just screwed at birth.
