OK so i have either KPAF or Rosacea on my face but i don't know which one it is. My doctor says i have Keratosis Polaris cause i have those bumps on my arms and fac. But my face is really red and flushed but it HURTS! I also have some broken blood vesles. I have both conditions in my family.
What do you think it is? Also is IPL laser good for treating KPAF? COuld i just have regular KP and rosacea...im only 18 and my skin seems pre maturely aged! Someone please help me? What can i use because u are not supposed to use Retinol and Alpha Acids on rosacea?! IM SO confused what can i do? |

Rosecea?
I too have been diagnosed with both kp and rosecea and had wondered after finding this site whether the redness on my nose is just kp as well. But I have come to the conclusion after reading many threads that it probably is rosecea on me as I don't have the bumps on my face. It is effected by heat, cold, embrassment, some food, and most noticable it improved greatly when I stopped using chemical soaps and creams. Maybe best to follow the treatment for rosecea first to see if that helps before considing kp treatments on your face. I have listed a cream reciepe that helped me on the oil pulling thread you might want to try that for rosecea. Also oil pulling might help no matter which conditon it is. I have noticed that my nose redness is slightly better after 2 1/2 weeks and kp on arms leg and bum is really improving.
Hope this might help ![]() |

I have been misdiagnosed as having roscacea in the past also. A good rule of thumb is if you have KPRF you will most likely always have KP on your upper arms. Also roscacea effects the nose whereas KPRF is just the cheeks.
So if your nose is not red and you have KP on your arms you possibly have KPRF. But hey - I am no dermatologist. Check pictures on the web to see what looks most like you and even post some pictures here to see what others think. You need to know what condition you have so you can treat it appropriately. |
