Humidifier and more Redness relief cream

I recently bought a humidifier and my face is a lot less red then right before i bought it. It is winter now, and my cheeks always get much worse in the winter. When they got worse this winter I decided to buy the humidifier. I have the humifier on the lowest setting. I keep my room a comfortable temperature, not hot, cold. When it gets cold due to being winter the air can't hold as much water so it gets drier. Just in case it makes a difference, the humidifier I have creates mist with vibrations and not heat.

Around the same time I bought the humidifier I started using just a little more Eucerin Redness relief cream, the daily perfecting lotion. By tapping my cheeks lightly with all four of my fingers to even the cream out instead of smearing the cream around by "dragging" one finger across my cheeks I can get the cream to be more even, and not look green or streaky anywhere. (When tapping the cream can look kind of speckled. Kind of like how paint looks when applied with a roller. You'll see what I mean if you try it. This speckled look goes away though when the cream dries.) This allows me to use a little bit more of the cream.

One of these or both seemed to make a difference.

Interesting Tanaka and i'm glad you have found something that is helping. Maybe the humidifier is helping to keep your pores open and therefore decreasing inflammation? I have always found that when visiting hot climates especially around the mediterranean that my redness is nowhere near as severe as in the UK climate. Possible as the skin is more moisturised due to the increased humidity the pores remain clearer and therefore the flushing reaction is reduced.

Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Humidifiers are great. Don't buy a cheap one. I am also going to try that Eucerin tapping trick.
