Caffeine and KPRF

I've noticed that while I consume a moderate amount of caffeine, my face gets slightly better. But about four hours later, I get tired and my face gets more red.
Even when I don't consume caffeine, the redness usually comes when I'm tired i.e. at night. This makes me think that KPRF has something to do with the hormone adenosine (the hormone that makes us sleepy and is blocked by stimulants such as caffeine).
Have any of you noticed the same or different reactions to caffeine?

One thing is for sure. It has to do with hormones.
That's why it, in many cases, increases alot during the puberty.

Caffeine constricts blood vessels which makes the redness less apparent temporarily. It has nothing to do with hormones.

I know for a fact that adenosine is blocked by caffeine (I think adenosine is a hormone). So it could have something to do with hormones. Please explain your reasoning, accorddude.

Adenosine is an anti-inflammitory. By blocking it with caffeine, logically it would make the redness worse. So your theory is kinda backwards. Caffeine is a blood vessel constrictor which raises blood pressure. This is why caffeine keeps you awake.

The redness is not the cause of KPRF, it's just your bodies inflammitory response to the fact that your hair follciles are plugged and not functioning properly. By trying to treat the redness your are mearly treating a symptom and not the actual condition itself. Keratosis pilaris is a disfunction of the keratinization process of the hair follicle. It is not a blood vessel disorder like rosacea.

so is there a link b/w KP and hormones? like I may be going on the birth control pill soon...would that help it in anyway or could it? i have pretty bad KP (arms, legs, face....everywhere) so even the slightests change would just make me so happy. and will it get better with age?! my mom's did but she said she didn't have it as bad as i do. i dont want to live like this forever i feel so ugly.

Have you ever seen a real testosterone-bomb with cute red cheeks? No!

People with high level of testosterone often get spots/acne. People with low level of testosterone or high level of estrogen compared to the testosterone-level get dry and sensitive skin...

It's probably not just testosterone/estrogen that have an impact on the skins sebumproduction.

I definitely decided that caffein is bad for kprf. For the past few days I've been drinking a couple of cups of decaffeinated coffee per day. My redness was getting worse slowly, but I attributed it to other factors. Then last night I drank some caffeinated coffee at about 7:00 pm and by 7:05 pm my face was BRIGHT RED! No more caffeine for me.
