Flush Fest!

On the Facial Blushing and Sweating forum, most of the members are from the UK, and every few months they have a "Blushfest" where all the members attempt to get together and have a good time with people that suffer from the same condition they do. They always have the Blushfest in London however, and I have yet to make the trip.

But I think it would be great to have a similar get together with people who suffer from KPRF. I NEVER see anyone else with this condition and I think it would bring a lot of comfort to those who feel like nobody understands what they're going through.

Is anybody up for it?

Dave

I am here in Florida. Do you know anyone else in Florida that has KPRA or any good MDs?

Unfortunately, I don't know any good derms down here. I have emailed a couple online, but they haven't written me back. I'm beginning the think that derms today are nothing more than cosmetic surgeons for the vain. I don't think they really want to get into what their job really entails, which is treating skin disorders, not injecting botox or applying chemical peels. I'm frustrated to say the least.

I don't know anyone else in FL that has KPRF, but I did see a guy at blockbuster tonight that undoubtedly had it. It's just weird to approach strangers that you feel may suffer the same issues, but if they don't "suffer" with it, then I don't want them to feel anything different about it.

Anyway, Good luck with your search, and let me know if you find someone with experience treating KPRF.

It is so funny you should say that you saw KPRF on a guy at Blockbuster. I noticed myself studying my manager's face intently today because it was rather red in some spots. I don't think it is KPRF nor have I ever seen anyone else with it. KP seems pretty common but not KPRF.

I am a 28 year old woman who works as a drug rep. I have seen several MDs and been told I had a vascularity or that they just did not know what I had. Dr. Crotty in Orlando was the first md that knew what KP was. I discovered I had KPRF after surfing the web. The right side of my face has the classic redness with the white spot in the middle like all the clinical pictures. He has not treated anyone with KPRF before but neither has anyone else in Florida it seems. He gave me the clinical study by Clark and Mills on laser treatments. He uses the V star laser and charges $75 for a test area and $450 plus a dollar per pulse for each session. Shands at UF uses the V star laser and charges $300 per session plus a free consultation. I am just happy I found this website and can find out what works for others and finally put a name to what I have on my face. It took 6 years but now at least I know. If you are interested, I can let you know what happens at Shands after my appointment in Jan.

That would be great!

You know, the funny thing is, you and I suffer the same condition, and we are both drug reps. I'm on the treasure coast (Stuart, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce) Do you ever get flushed during lunches? I think my condition has unfortunately added a bit of anxiety in my life, because when I feel myself flushing and turning a nice shade of "Barney" purple, all I want to do is end the lunch and get back into the A/C of my car and relax. Fortunately, I have good relationships with most of my docs so I don't suffer anxiety all too often.

But please, let me know how your treatments work out up in Gainesville.

Oh yeah, what disease states to you cover with your job? I'm strictly Diabetes, so I don't get to call on any Derms. I wish I did.
