Something everyone should read...

I have come to the point that i am now willing to accept my KPRF, it is a part of my body and until a cure is found (by researchers) i will continue to live with this skin problem and try to block it out of my mind. I've found that people who try to remove this skin problem are actually making it worse and is leading themselves into depression. I've also noticed that by just washing my face and not trying on many lotions/creams has made my face feel and look much better, besides the chances of finding a cure by yourself is probably equal to winning something like the lottery.

Well...I can accept it, but the fear is that others won't.

We need to learn to live with it, but by no means should we accept it or we will never find a cure. Dermatology researchers need to get off their a** and help us with this problem because a cure is not going to just show up. Giving up is not the answer, we need to get more and more people involved and get the attention of the dermatology profession. I think its absolutely pathetic how little they know, they should be embarassed as dermatologists, they are doctors and they should act like it. There are enough people with this condition where there should be a cure or amazing treatment on the market.

I am just trying to say that there probably won't be a cure for this skin problem in our lifetime so we should just make it the least of our problems and try to enjoy life the best we can.

Amen. I've learned to accept it and just pity the people who constantly look at me like I'm a freak.

In our lifetime? You cant be serious, that is so pessimistic. Modern medecine is incredible, we just need someone to research it. I am sure there will be a cure or breakthrough treatment within the next 4 years. I pity you guys if youre just going to accept it.

well how should researchers do something about it if no one try to convince them to try and find a cure or treatment. You can read what I´ve written before and you´ll see what I mean.

it's been long known that keratinization problems such as KP are the result of internal processes gone awry due to poor health/diet/toxicity in genetically susceptible people. most doctors, including dermatologists, are so textbook-minded and tunnel-visioned that they can't see outside of their given specialties and how complex the human body really is.

Better to accept it than to let it ruin our lives.

First of all if you let this skin disorder ruin your life then you must have a pretty easy life. Just remember that other people, especially in other countries have to worry about things like getting enough to eat and staying alive. Im not saying it should be that much of a concern, but we cant just give up and stop trying.

Exactly. Compared to some people, we are truly blessed. That's why I don't obsess over it.
