I was always told that you have to exfoiliate before using sunless tanning products. My problem is, I can exfoiliate all day long, but nothing short of sandpaper is going to get rid of my bumps. Should I still be able to go and get something like a Mystic Tan, or will I be wasting my money? Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm about to try sunless tanning myself, and I'm a bit nervous about that. I'm trying one of the gradual tan products (neutrogena build a tan) so if it goes badly it won't be that noticable. Tanning products tend to build up in dry skin areas and create darker spots, so if you moisturize a ton before that will probably help.

i used a tanning bed for my homecoming .and it made my skin look better because it made my skin so brown you could barely see the bumps but you could still feel them . i use Aveeno for moisturizing so make my skin feel more soft its a 24 hr mosturizer . but i try to moistrize as much as possible in a day.
but tanning beds deffinatly help exspecially because they make you sweat which is good for your skin. |

So, I tried it. I didn't find the tan building up around the bumps. Our exfoliation intensive lifestyles don't really help the life of the tan, and in general I wasn't happy with the product I chose. I'm going to keep trying though.

I use the sunless tanning products, specifically Nivea touch of summer firmining lotion, I like it because instead of the redness from kp, my skin is more tan (but still a bit red) and I also find my arms are smoother, maybe because it is a firming lotion, I am not sure...I've gone to a mystic tan booth before and I loved it, everyone thought I had a real tan, I exfoliate every day with a lofah, and the tan last about a week. so maybe try a sunless tanning moisturizer and use it continuously, much cheapier than getting a mystic tan every week. hth.
