Sweet Almond Oil
Hi everyone this is my first post,i have just been told by a gp and a derm that i have keratosis pilaris after i thought i had rosacea.I brought some sweet almond oil from a health store and this has helped the texture of my skin.i had dry skin through out winter and i have been using sweet almond oil which has cleared all the dryness and stops the tightness i get after washing. It might be a coinsidence but since i have been using this i have had any bad flushes(yet!).My skin is soft and clear but still red!I been using this twice a day applying a mosturiser over it during the day and apply it on its own at night.Has anybody else tryed this?and could anybody recomend a good moisturiser/cream to help the redness?changing the subject i have noticed a few small veins on the red skin.is this normall for this condiction??

Mc most of the time with KPRF there will be no veins visible, just red rough cheeks. Eucerin redness relief cream will help cover some of the redness up but surface treatments can only provide so much relief.

I used everything I could try in the winter for my skin and it just made it worse. Oil of Olay and some pricey department store brand stuff and my skin stayed red and flakey. I went off everything for a week and used Aveeno clear complexion cleansing pads, that really cleared up a lot of the redness. Then this week I started with Eucerin calming cream moisturizer at night and aAveeno calming moisturizer with SPF for the day. At night I use the St. Ives apricot scrub and the Sea Breeze astringent for sensitive skin (it's blue in color- the ingredients show a little eucalyptus in it). My skin is the softest it has been in years and the redness and bumps are very, very slowly going away. I'd say look at all of the skin products you are using. Are you getting more flushed looking after applying them? Try a few different one and just see how your skin reacts.
