How To Treat KPRF (The Official Treatment Plan and the only one that works)
I am making an official treatment plan to simply tell people what they should and should not do.
This is for the redness of the face. Do Not: Try tropical steroids Use exfoliation Undertake any kind of laser treatment (There is currently NO LASER TREATMENT FOR KPRF) Talk with a dermatologist (don't waste your time) There is only one treatment plan: Buy Eucerin's Redness Relief line of products. Buy their soap and use it on your face, buy their night lotion and lather up at night. These two products will diminish your redness, however, it will still be prevalent. More importantly, it will help reduce the "solid line" that divides your red skin from your regular skin that makes KPRF so unsightly. Now, buy the Day lotion and the concealer stick. Use the day lotion in the following manner: Day Lotion Instructions: -Apply very small amounts, rub it in, and then apply more as needed. If you are male it is very important to avoid overapplying. If there are some portions of your face that require a very large amount of lotion to conceal, pull out the concealing stick and use that in those small areas. Be sure to use a tissue to wipe away the excess and ensure that there is no lotion on parts of your face that are not red (to avoid a white line around the redness) All products mentioned are in the Eucerin Redness Relief line! Google it! I have extremely severe KPRF (worse than on the two pictures available through the google search) and this diminishes the redness to a point where the redness on my cheeks is mistaken for an unusually healthy glow. I have named this the "official treatment plan" because this is the only treatment plan that has had any positive feedback on this board. For those of you unable to purchase this brand of products due to living outside the US please post and I will be more than happy to assist you. |

so I got a letter and some samples in the mail today from Eucerin (not the anti-redness stuff though)
I live in the UK, and they said that although Eucerin in this country don't make the anti-redness line (ummmm, WHY- we have just as much incidence of flushing and redness as the States!), they would pass my interest onto the appropriate dept. Fat lot of good that will do I'm sure. |

I've been using the redness line for a few days and this is what i've noticed so far. The daily perfecting lotion really does cover up the redness good and seems to calm flairups, plus it isn't obvious that you have something on your skin (especially since im a guy) like makeup would be, to the touch its pretty much undectectable for someone that doesn't know about it. It definitely is a coverup though as when I use the daily wash to take the lotion off it goes back to the redness. I haven't gotten a lot of results with the night cream, but maybe it just takes time. It seems to make my skin feel a little better but i don't think things have changed as far as my redness, same with the daily wash. however it does say these products will take 4 weeks for skin condition to improve, so im not ruling anything out til at least a month has gone by without any significant improvements. i will continue to keep up with everything. the consealing stick is probably not needed for most people, as i believe its mostly for touchups if the lotion isn't doing enough for you, but i haven't had to use it yet besides once experimenting. i believe it's ingredients are the exact same stuff as in the lotion, i lost the box to the lotion so i cant compare the two but they have to be almost identical (same green color).
but so far the lotion is excellent and nothing is making things worse. At the bare minimum, i would definitely suggest everyone getting the lotion. i'll update everyone in another week, drop a messed if you got questions. As far as those outside of the US, this website carries the products, though i don't know if they ship internationally? http://www.drugstore.com/search/sear...redness+relief |

I think that I would rather find something that will calm the redness all the time, not just cover it up. I have make-up for that.

Im not a hope killer but I know this will kill some people hopes. I have KPRF and I have tried this line and it did nothing for my redness. The lotion does calm the face but the redness does not dissapear.
I wish I was posting with more positive news but that was my experience. Maybe it will work for you, who knows. |

I've tried this line. The green tinted lotion does help to cover up my redness better than make-up style tinted moisterizers did. I'm a guy, so anything thick and noticeable is a "no go" for me. When I've been out and having alcohol, I'll still feel my face flare up, but it's not as much and the redness is more even toned. I do credit part of the improvement in the reduction of anxiety when my cheeks flare up. Just knowing that the Eucerin is covering it a little makes me more at ease and less nervous, like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was when his nose was covered by the dirt and everyone thought he was "normal."
As far as the other products go, I only had the night creme, and that didn't seem to do too much. I would like to try the entire regimine someday soon. (After I give this Finacea a try to satisfy my clueless dermotologists.) |
