UK based products that work

hi I have seen so much info on products that people use in the states i thought id do a little list of what works for me and what doesnt as i live in the Uk.

I have tried everyhting, including the salycilic acid solution form the docs, if anythign that made it worse.

what does work for me and is relatively cheap is a combination of things......

1. invest in a nursery small humidifier from bionaire keep it on at night, this helps keep moisture in the skin

2. never rub skin dry after a shower always pat dry and if possibe apply oils over wet skin

2. St ives apricot facial scrub for belmished skin. This has salycilic acid in it unlike the other st ives products and works wonderfully but use gently as too much hard scrubbing might feel good but can make the condition worse.

3. now for the strange finds i have found that actually work

middle earth turns to rock soap form LUSH use daily gently on affected areas ( GENTLY)

Botanics collection from BOOTS the chemist do various products that i stumbled on that have virtually sorted the rough patches of keratosis i had but not the red marks , however i do find it easier to live with if my skin actually FEELS smooth...... these products are

1. Night Facial Treatment Oil with hydrating grape extract
I apply this daily when my karatosis is bad usually at night then put on my humidifier by morning i can already notice a real difference, nothing else works as good as this product for me.... it costs £5 and come in a small bottle so it may prove expensive if using on arms and legs like i do. WHat is so good is that u can use it on facial keratosis. I use this every day when my skin is wet after a shower

2. Botanics from boots the chemist softening body oil

If my keratosis has become more manageable after using the facial oil for a week i use this twice a day and top up every other day with the facial oil.

The other wonderful propduct is coconut oil it has to be virgin coconut oil this can be bought off various internet sites and also ebay, some stuff is better than others. YOu can also cook with coconut oil and if ingested it is excellent for keratosis.

i guess you all know the trick is to do the routine every day,

also ladies after having a baby my keratosis got much much worse and then the urge to pick becomes terrible. the answer is if at all possible dont pick, it gives u infected spots. if its proving really hard get mittens and wear all the time when sitting with nothign to do this can help break the habit.

anyoone looking for more UK based ideas or anyone have any odeas i havent tired u can email me at
