A treatment for facial redness
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and was dying to let you all know that I have suffered for with KP and horrible facial redness since i was about 12 and I'm 22 now. Two years ago but i found a cure. Photofacials. Its as simple as that. I had permenatly red + bumpy cheeks, but after 2 photofacials (though i noticed a significant improvement after the first session) the redness was gone. I can't recommend them enough. Don't suffer anymore unnessarily. Please give it a try ![]() |

What are photofacials? And how much does it cost?

Photofacials use IPL - Intense Pulsed Light- to illiminate the redness. I live in Australia and the sessions cost me $250 each and i never regretted a cent of it. (I'm sure in the U.S and U.K where its been out longer it would be cheaper). Finally for the first time in my life i dont have to worry about turning betroot red when i blush, or have that burning heat when I have half a glass of wine
This site explains a little how photofacials or IPL works, but there are loads of sites out there that go into a bit more depth on how it works. http://www.happellaser.com/photo.html I cant express how much i urge you all to give it a try, or at least research this option. It beats creams and suffering anyday. Has anyone else had the procedure and had good results too? |

Hi,
I just new to this site after discovering that my red cheeks were caused by KP. I had no idea. But now that I know I have been hunting around for all the information that I can gather. I have found this forum quite enlightening as I now know that I am not alone. I have recently been hunting around for an IPL centre and have found a few locally which I am going to try out. I was wondering after your original 2 sessions whether you had to have "top ups" ie regular IPL sessions to keep the redness at bay ? Thanks ![]() |

Years ago my dermatologist recommended that I should try laser treatments and he actually tried a small portion of my face for free just to see if it would actually do anything for me before he did the whole procedure. I didn't notice any difference at all.

I have had 7 fotofacial treatments by Dr. Bitters, the developer of the fotofacial treatments, and they really do work. At his office they run $450 for the first 5 treatments and then $250 for any additional treatments. I would highly recommend this to anyone with redness on their face. It is worth the investment. Hi erus2922
Your treatment sounds wonderful......what a relief for you, and I'm really excited to hear about the Intense Pulsed Light treatment. After years of putting up with "very red" cheeks that I just hate, finally maybe a solution. I am also feeling quite depressed, as I think my 4 year old daughter may have the same problem. I just know how self-conscious I've been and don't want her to suffer the same way. I live in Australia.......can you post any contact phone numbers, business names etc. that you may have for clinics offering this IPL treatment in Victoria........just a start would be good. |

Hi
I had my treatments done at Avana in sydney www.avana.com.au Although they recommend between 3-6 sessions, I had 2 and was completely happy. It has been over 2 years since those treatments and I have noticed the redness coming back a little, and they suggested you should go back once a year for follow up treatments. I can't stress how much I recommend them. For $AU250 a session it's so worth it. I just kept thinking after I had the treatments why did I wait so long to do it! I hope it works for you guys as well as it did for me Good luck ![]() |

hi erus2922,
Can you tell me if you have been dognosed of kprf (rubra faceii (red cheeks)) and the treatment worked on this. I have checked the site you listed and it mainly helps with a similar skin condition called Roseacea. Normally older people suffer from this condition. I have been diagnosed as having kprf and am desperate for help. I await your reply. Waj |
