I have seen many doctors and derms since the time I was a child and have been given absolutely no useful advice or prescriptions. I have been "diagnosed" with skin allergies (which I don't have) eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, acne, and one doctor who actually told me he had never seen skin like mine before. Thanks! I cried for an hour afterwards. Another derm gave me Nizoral shampoo SHAMPOO!!! and told me to use it on my face. This same derm, when I mentioned the scarring on my cheeks told me to quit obsessing and looking in the magnifying mirror. My family doctor thought the bumps on my arms were just clogged pores, and that I needed to clean my skin better. I have had it! Does no one know about Keratosis Pilaris, Rubra, UO, or AV? I swear, everyone on this message board is more knowledgeable than any doctor I have ever been to. One of these days I'm going to walk into a derm's office, tell him exactly what I have and ask him to prescribe me the right stuff. They'll probably just look at me like I'm crazy.

You are so right. The derm's I've been too seem to be pretty clueless. I've found more info here and on the web than any derm has been able to tell me.

I went to a dermatologist who was aware of it, but he just sold me some over-priced oil that his office makes. It gave me the same results as any other lotion, though. Why can't they find a CURE!? It makes me so self-consious about my arms
