makeup-

ok, heres the thing. makeup makes the redness a lot worse. sure it could cover it up a little but after a while the redness is going to increase so much-due to the makeup-that make up won't help at all after a while. plus, since i have a little bit of kp bumps on my face, make up would stand out. im wondering if there is anything i can do right now that would decrease the redness, just a little bit. i know that there is no "cure" or anything like that. i just want to know if there is anything i can do that would help, even a little bit. i was thinking about buying some of that murad stuff, but i need some opinions on it first, from people that tried it first hand.

What kind of makeup have you tried? Does it itch, get warm, or does it just turn red?

I have red cheeks. I have tried everything. I have not found anything to remedy the redness and have tried all of those latest anti-redness things from prescriptives, etc.

Let me know if it an allergy to the makeup and what you are using. Let's see if we can collaborate on this.

to boosmom:
murad is not a makeup, its a treatment for redness-its a cream. i got a sample of it and it did calm the redness a little but since it was a sample, it wasnt enough to tell any dramatic results.

Have you tried a mineral makeup? I have heard that it works well for many skin conditions. www.monave.com is a great company run by a great women. I have been told that once you try it you never go back. It is complelty different from traditional makeup.

I've been using a cheap, over the counter liquid foundation and it hasn't irritated my skin at all. What you should do before applying it is rub a good lotion over your skin and let it soak in for 10 minutes. The makeup goes on easy, and if it's a good lotion, your face will stay moist.

Thanks to Keratosis Pilaris, I'm now a metrosexual

For the bumps and roughness, you could try Neutrogena Skin Smoothing Lotion. It gets mixed reviews here. It doesn't help much with the redness, but I find it does improve the texture of the skin.

I'm looking forward to trying this treatment:

Finally something helped!!

But, at $50 a month, that's going to burn the checkbook a bit.
