Thumbs up Carrot juice produces miraculous results

I posted this on another forum but wanted to share here as well. I recently started drinking fresh carrot juice daily (I now live next to a Wild Oats which is what started it). My KP began clearing up THE NEXT DAY after I started drinking it! I'm not kidding. I have suffered with this condition for over 15 years and this is the ONLY thing that has worked. I have not changed my diet in any other way. I am not doing a juice fast or anything like that. I'm just supplementing my regular diet with a 16 oz. glass of fresh-squeezed carrot juice each evening.

Cons: You have to drink it every single day or KP comes back. Plus, it has only cleared up about 25% of my KP. I still have it bad on my back and forearms. But I'm hoping it might improve if I up the amount of juice intake.

Pros: I noticed IMMEDIATE improvement. Literally, I woke up the next morning and it was markedly better. There are patches on my skin that were covered in KP a few weeks ago. Now they are totally clear, with no scars, redness, etc. They look like "normal" skin. Please, I urge you guys to try this. As a major KP person I know how depressing and frustrating this condition is. I sincerely hope others will have the same results as me.

One week I was seriously low on funds and all i had in my fridge was ketchup and carrots, so i started eating alot of carrots and my KP is almost gone except for those pesky scars.

I have KPRF really bad. Was your cheeks always red and has the carrot juice reduced the redness?

I bought a blender today and lots of carrots, I hope it helps.

    Please reply

    Cheers

Carrot juice tastes awesome! Believe it or not, it's really sweet... so good, you'll forget it's really good for you BUT I definitely would not recommend blending carrots up in a blender. Get a cheap juicer, like the Juiceman Jr (get it for like $25 on eBay), which will make smooth juice... instead of a thick pulpy carrot mess Ick.

Alternatively, just pick up a jug or two of Odwalla carrot juice (64 oz.) for less than six bucks.

    Thanks!

Thanks soo much for that info. I am a regular juicer, and I suffer from chronic kp since I'm a teen (I'm 37 now)...I can't believe I haven't heard this until now! Ironically, I juice green veggies and fruits - but no carrots! That regimen is about to change!

By the way, I've experimented with EVERYTHING for KP and I now have something that minimizes it considerably (but of course hasn't gotten rid of it entirely). I bought the DermaNew microdermabrasion system on ebay. I use it on my arms and legs (takes like 10 minutes a day), then rinse & apply Neutrogena Skin Smoothing lotion. I have to say, I am very pleased with those results. If this carrot juice works I may just have to go on vacation this winter to some exotic island and wear...whatever I want!
Thanks again. Hope this is helpful to someone out there ;-)

This is a question for Jojobear

Jojobear- are you still seeing the results from the carrot juice?

Carrot juice is very concentrated. In order to make a cup of carrot juice you would have to use several (and I mean several) carrots. This is probably why people see results from the carrot juice because it contains so many of the the vitamins in a small package.

I'm so glad to hear this. I just learned about KP and KPRF two days ago and I'm so excited to try this. I like carrots and I've never had carrot juice before, so I can't wait. Anything to help deminish this condition I've had for as long as I can remember. People are always asking me why my arms are bumpy or why my face is red. Now I can tell them with certainty that I have keratosis pilari as well as KP Rubra Faceii. They wouldn't know what it was, but, hey, I can finally answer them and not grasp for straws. Hopefully, it will go away as I enter adulthood. I read somewhere that it goes away around 16 and that's me right now. I hope it goes away.
Thanks for the carrot juice tip. I will try that. I'll probably just by V8 or something.
Sorry for blabbing. I just wanted you all to know my story because I'm new.

Hi. This is my first post. woohoo go me. Just an FYI...I drink a lot of fruit juices but I dont like to make them myself because I dont have a lot of time, however Bolthouse Farms makes a carrot juice drink. It's 100% carrot juice all natural and not from concentrate. I havent tried the Carrot juice drink but I do drink the strawberry banana and a few others and I will say they are pretty awesome. The only downside it is a little expensive but you have to pay for the convenience of it if you are busy like me. You can get them at any grocery store like Martins or Food lion or even Wal-mart. take care.

About KeratosisPilaris.org

Keratosis Pilaris is a very common benign genetic skin condition. KeratosisPilaris.org is the definitive resource for KP on the internet.

KP appears as rough or bumpy skin on the back and/or outer sides of your upper arms. The severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. You can also manifest it on the face as a natural blush (known as KPRF or Keratosis Pilaris Rubra Faceii).

This community is composed primarily of KeratosisPilaris.org community members, but is also open for those interested in the topic.
