Talking re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

my face after my 2nd PDL is remarkable, the redness from the PDL went down 70%, and I have normal pale blothches all over. the method he used is called stacking, instead of high energy and inducing purpura he did this, now when I go back in FEB for my next treatment he will do the areas that are still mildy pink again stacking to make the rest pale. and the paxil too with PDL works great no more flushing and blushing, and finally results after 2 PDL treatments, after my next one I hope to be near 90% or more, the maybe 1 more. but gonna continue with paxil too.

my treatments:
3 IPL hair removal treatments (only on my cheeks beard area where it was red)
1st IPL OCT 07
2nd IPL NOV 07 no more hair to shave, just nice smooth skin (but still have a moustache, chin, and under neck to shave)
3rd IPL DEC 07

1st PDL DEC 07 (slight improvement)
2nd PDL JAN 08 (overall redness lightend to a very mild pink) and normal pale blothches all over cheek area! used the stacking method (double zap on every area treated. instead of high energy and causing purpura (purple bruises)

wash my face with aveeno moisturizing bar (non-soap) made with natural colloidial oatmeal.
moisturize my face with aveeno positively smooth facial moisturizer (blue cap)

use aquaphor by eurcerin all over my face 1 time a week, and in my eyebrows 3 times a week.

wash my body with Irish Spring icy blast soap and loofah (belive it or no the soap helped my body KP.

I use alchohol on a Q-tip if I have an occasional pimple on my face.

paxil 20mg daily

thats about it.

P.S. ask your derm if he would put PDL under your insurance. if he is compassinate and a good bed side manner then he should. derms get paid more when billing insurance, mine bills insurance as treating a hemingioma which is cover by insurance, but kp and variations of it are not so he does this.

Jason

You are getting PDL with the candela V-Beam right?
Do you remember the exact settings used?
Here in London its very difficult to even locate a V-beam machine, never mind a derm sypmathetic to KPRF.

Is stacking a new technique, because almost all of the Vbeam patients on the rosacea forum went purpuric and had severe bruising for weeks?

Glad to hear things are working out for you. I really want this to be the year I get mine under control.

Terry

Yes
No, but they could not have been too high as it did not hurt that much.
I doubt its a new technique, its just a double pass or zap over the same area 2 times instead of 1 zap, I do have 3 purple spots but none near the pale areas, and they are small purple dots.

Jason , great work pal and delighted to hear you may have found a sucessful treatment .
I know it's a pain but could you find out what setting were used as it could be very helpful . I'm in for another pdl patch in a few days and this stacking method sounds like it may be the way to go.

Whereabouts in the world is your treatment centre ? I would be prepared to travel if necessary.
I 'm skiing at the mo and my kprf is worse than ever .

Thanks,

I dont know what the setting is but it does not bruise me (purple) and it does not hurt really, so it cant be too high a setting. its not a treatment center but its a dermatologist office he has 2 locations. Philadelphia P.A., yeah try the stacking pulses one zap on top of another, your derm should tell u as he is doing the treatment if your skin is tolerating it well or not.

Jason1901, Don't you flush/blush at all when you're exercising or it's very hot/cold?

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

paroxetine HCL 20mg tablet is the generic or substitue for paxil 20mg, it is what I take.

u dont notice any difference in flushing or blushing at all, u dont feel more calm and not anxious about your face, less embarrased etc etc.. ?

re: Flushing and Blushing Cure! Paxil (paroxetine)

hmm...... Ive noticed that when Im driving and have the heat on in the car I can stay with it on and no flush or blush, heater on in the house too, and the sun when I drive and the sun hits ur face through the window is when I normally would flush but not now. If u up ur dose confirm with your Doctor.
