I'd like to say thank you to you Khrissy for all the hard work you have put in - the questionairre is great!:

Gender: F

Age: 46

1. type of condition? I have both forms of KPAF (i.e. Atrophoderma vermiuclata which effects the top of the cheeks and also Ulerythema Ophryogenes that effects the eyebrows) But as UO is mentioned elsewhere I will just talk about Atrophoderma Vermiculata (AV) here

2. what triggers the condition? (if you don't no just say N/A) For me it has been entirely genetics and hormones with both conditions suddenly appearing around age 14

3. how many years you've noticed the condition? that would be 32 years

4. has it got worse or got better? It has got much better with age. The inflammatory stage is now pretty non existant but have have red scarring and pitting on my cheeks as a result of having AV

5. what treatments have worked?
Pulse Dye Laser treatment has by far been the most effective thing for bringing down the redness caused by AV
I have also been using a retin-a cream (retinova) over the last 5 years - it helps keep the skin on my face nice and soft

6. have you had laser treatment? (if yes please state any side effects or pain caused by the laser)
Yes I have had two PDL treatments using the Candela VBeam PDL. One was done about 6 years ago the other about 2 years ago.
Atrophoderma vermiculata is different to KPRF in that the skin is eaten away and the blood vessels get quite messed up.
Both treatments were quite intense and were followed by severe bruising and swelling. It took about 2 weeks for me to look half decent even with makeup on. and it took 10 weeks for the red laser dots to fade completely

7. where was the location of the treatment? (country and town/state) First in Auckland NZ and 2nd in Dunedin NZ

8. did the treatment work? Yes first treatment reduced redness by about 30% and 2nd treatment probably about 50%

9. how many sessions did you have? 2

10. what was the results (0=none, 10=very successful)
I would probably say 8 for each. I would loved to have had just one treatment and all the redness go however this is not the case with this condition. I will probably need 1 to 2 more treatments to get my skin back to a near normal appearance.
