Subject: KeratosisPilaris.org Update Note:
This message has been sent to all addresses which sent email at one point
or another to melissa@keratosispilaris.org . By having this email address
posted so prominently on the site, it has been picked up by spammers and
spiders which have bombarded it with junk mail. This excess mail has made
it almost impossible to keep track of relevant email, I apologize to all
of those who tried to contact me and were unable to do so. I would like to offer you all my prayers and condolences in these trying and difficult times. My heart goes out to each an every one of you. Let us all pray for peace and an end to this confrontation. The purpose of this email is to inform you all that we are currently working on a new forum and that it will be up and running within the next week. This has been a rather difficult process and you will see that the new message board has some major changes that I find will benefit everyone. The new forum will have many new features, among them there will be: instant messaging, threaded discussions, polls and overall a much more powerful database-driven engine.
We are working on alternatives to better protect the community and all users from scammers, sellers and aggravating individuals. This problem has not had a simple solution so far, but I promise to do my very best in preserving the community and keeping it a friendly place.
I know that you have all been waiting patiently for the launch of our new format. Thank you for being so considerate. I know that it has taken a while for us to go live but there are many changes that are being made, such as finishing the new software implementation and integrating with authentication scripts.
All of the renovations under way have been costly (but I feel a good investment). We have been exploring different options to help offset these costs, two of which are: adding advertisements to the site, or requiring the forum users to pay a small one-time fee. We are also looking into other ways of finding a reasonable and workable solution for everyone. Whichever the case may be, I will certainly inform you all beforehand.
In the mean time, the rest of the site is up and running as well as the archives (http://www.keratosispilaris.org/forum_toc.htm) for anyone who may be interested in reviewing them or is new to the site! Im sorry that our community was so rudely interrupted; we are planning on ways to keep this from happening again.
If you need to contact me, please use this email, mel@keratosispilaris.org
as having the email (melissa@keratosispilaris.org) listed in the sites
header has made my inbox become a junk-box making it almost
impossible to follow-up with non-junk email. Yet another lesson learned
the hard way
Again, the archives
have been made available so that new people can get up to date with previous
discussions and get insight from other users experiences. I must warn
you though, that some postings might be one, misguiding; two, biased (setup
by product manufacturers); and three, insulting. If you see insulting
messages, please disregard as our site was plagued lately by some very
unscrupulous people. |
