My name is Stephanie, I am a 41-year-old mom of four and also a cab driver. I found this site after an internet search.

Finally, after a misdiagnosis over ten years ago, I was properly diagnosed with keratosis pilaris. For years, I thought it was flat warts, as they literally COVER my lower legs and there are many bumps on the tops of my feet, backs of my hands, and insides of my thighs.

I just got health insurance, and can now afford to go to the doctor! I was prescribed Lac-Hydrin 12%. The keratosis diagnosis was secondary to the primary reason why I visited a dermatologist..a suspicious brown spot on my face. Biopsy time, and another one next week for a 'mole' on the top of my head. I had skin tags frozen off my arms today. Sheeeesh, so much can go wrong with your skin!!

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and I will be watching this forum for replies. What have been successful treatments for your KP, fellow sufferers? Will this cream work or am I in for a big disappointment?

I have tried exfoliation (mechanical) wit a home made scrub made out of sugar, honey, and oatmeal.

My treatment:
Daily scrubbing with Homemade Salicylic Acid Scrub; soap: homemade vegetable glycerin & essential oils. I always moisturize with organic oils. Omega 3 supplements from Mercury Free Fish Oil. Arms 100% clear.
As of January 2010: My KP has returned but this time on my thighs and a little bit on the sides of my body. Maybe it is stress related or the fact that I left my skin without exfoliating on December.

Also have psoriasis which Derm prescribed for short term use Clobetasol.
As of Jan 2010: I'm back on Clobetasol for a month.

Mi tratamiento: Exfoliacion diaria con acido salicilico. Jabon hecho en casa de glicerina vegetal y aceites esenciales. Siempre humecto la piel con aceites organicos. Tomo Omega 3 de Aceite de Pescado. Tambien padezco de psoriasis para la cual del dermatologo me receto Clobetasol para el uso no prolongado .
Desde enero 2010: Mi KP ha regresado en mis muslos, quizas debido a stress y ademas deje de exfoliarme durante el mes de diciembre. Mi psoriasis empeoro tambien, asi que estoy nuevamente bajo el tratamiento de clobetasol por un mes.
