New to this site - have KP for 15 years now
Hello! I have been around this site in the past, but never really looked into it. I was diagnosed with KP in my early teens and was told it would go away in my mid to late twenties. I am almost 29 and it looks just as bad as it always has.
However, now after doing some research on this site and others, I have decided to do my own treatment plan. Something is starting to work, however the red dots and rash-like appearance are still present (even though my arms are way smoother feeling). If I start to see real results (disappearance of red dots), I will post my treatment plan. (And everything I am doing can be found in a grocery store!) I will be very happy if it works (but mad at the same time knowing that the perfect treatment was within my grasp all these years). I am thankful I have a loving husband who doesn't care about my skin problems. I may be comfortable enough to walk around my house, but I have yet to experience going out in public. I have NEVER been able to wear ANYTHING that exposes even the slightest bit of my KP without someone (EVEN STRANGERS) pointing out that I have a rash on my arms. It is super embarrassing. But you all know what that's like. I have KP on my arms and legs. My legs don't have bumps (just the red dots). I wear jeans all year long. If I am in a wedding, or have to expose my arms, I exfoliate a little and then apply foundation makeup to my arms. It may not remove the bumps on the arms but it sure does take away from the redness (although I can still feel people's eyes burning on my arms). Anyways - my treatment plan includes carrots, eucalyptus, coconut, sesame, meat tenderizer and apple cider vinegar. So far the meat tenderizer is doing an excellent job exfoliating. I started with carrot juice only and that in and of itself has given my skin a newfound glow (all parts not affected by KP) and the whites of my eyes have never been brighter. The parts affected by KP have become noticeably smoother...but there are still those red dots and to me, the redness is the worst part of this whole condition. I am trying oil pulling with sesame oil. I have only done 1 day so far and my teeth were whiter instantly. Who knows if this technique will work for me. |
