Hi, my name is Bridgett and I have had this condition my entire life. I just read in wikepedia that this condition lessens as you grow older and possibly go away. I must say that mine has done nothing but progress. When I was pregnant in 1999 it did lighten until almost undetected but returned with a vengence! I now have it covering my upper and lower arms, legs and even on the tops of my hands. I did get a prescription lotion with 12% lactic acid that my pharmacist was able to find a generic for so it was only $8, but doesn't really work. My daughter has it also but only lightly on arms and legs - more like the goose bump look. With so many people affected why is there no cure!!!

I live in Sarasota Florida and have been affected by this off and on since I was a teen. Since I have had a baby it has gotten worse. Just went and bought the Coconut Oil today and will start to use it. I am very self conscious about, I have tried not to be but as soon as I put on a tank top I look at it and can't walk out of the house without changine. I wish I could just get rid of it. I will post how the Coconut oil works since the prescription I got does not seem to be working!!!
