Smile Hi from Switzerland!

Hi! Great to see that there are many other people out there that have the same problems as me (is that a good thing?). I just found out about my KP yesterday, even though it started when I was a baby... but they always told me it would just get away when I got older (I'm 24 now... what does "older" mean anyway? Do I get to wear those sexy strapless dresses when I'm 80? hmmm... )

I'm from Switzerland by the way (sorry, my English might be a bit rusty...). As as said before, my skin desease was always part of me and most of the time I just try to ignore it (not so easy if you have a model sister... but I love her anyway).

I try to ignore stupid comments and stuff. I think I just got tired of being the poor, ugly kid who anyone could made fun of. I enjoy life for the most part, like hanging out with my friends (sadly never had a boyfriend... but that could also be because of my glasses or my ten pounds overweight feel like Quasimodo here, without the hunchback of course...), going to clubs and do sports.

Well, that's me... And I'm glad to be here!

So I'm off to do some thread-reading...

Greetings from (not at all cold) Switzerland!

HappyGirl

Talking Re: Hi from Switzerland!

Hi there JohnE!

Yes, Switzerland is great! But not all the time... and I think the government is not what it used to be. But I'm glad to live here, even though the climate is not really doing anything for my skin (I'd like to live on a tropical island... *sigh*)
As for my picture: I have a whole garden full of those plants (it's more like an invasion, really...) and even though they are rather thorny, they are still quite beautiful to look at... (I'd like to be like that as well sometimes... getting quite philosophical here )

But sadly, they never helped to get my skin better .

Re: Hi from Switzerland!

John,

Isn't Happy Girl's photo of a thistle?

By the way, don't think I haven't commented on your photo because I don't recognize it. I know exactly what it is.

Re: Hi from Switzerland!

I didn't figure it out -- I knew as soon as I saw it.

Burdock and thistle flowers look identical in photos. The leaves are the difference. Thistles are very thorny. Are burdocks thorny, also? Whatever it is, the flower is beautiful.

Sorry, Happy Girl,

Have you found a remedy to try?

Re: Hi from Switzerland!

Burdock is any of a group of biennial thistles in the genus Arctium, family Asteraceae. Native to the Old World, several species have been widely introduced worldwide.
