Smile Hello

I am a 19 year old female residing in the U.S originally fron Sieraa Leone, West Africa. I will be turning 20 in two days. I first noticed my KP when I was around 11 and it was only on my arms. It has gotten severe over the years. It has now spread to my face, forearms, buttocks, all over the front and back of my torso, and my legs. I haven't used anything consitently. I bought oil for oil pulling, but never used it. I've used cetaphil, eucerine for KP, and coconut oil. I learned what it was about three years ago when I went to a dermatologist. He prescribed ...Lac-something. I had no insurance so I had to pay for the visit and the $75 prescription myself. My parents didn't pay for anything because they don't think my KP is a big deal. Before this my mom would tell me it was cruh-cruh, (a Sierra Leonean skin diagnosis that seems to lump all visible raised bumps on the skin together) caused from occasionally dropping my towel on the floor. Maybe there are other africans or black people with this condition, but I've never seen them. Except for my dad of course, that who's genes I inherited. I look exactly like him! I took the good, the bad, and the ugly! Big beautiful eyes, full lips, caramel complected, dimpled chin, the tightest kinky spiral curls ever, and of course KP. I use to think "I'm so ugly, no man will ever want me, why am I the only one with this," but I 've grown out of those thoughts. Its just unsightly. I'm in good health and I guess it could be worse. I'll try to find a remedy that works, but I'm not going to obsess over it. I am more obsessed with being trim and fit. I'm not so much worried about my body as I am the skin on my face. Like with everywhere else the bumps that flatten leave a dark brown mark. On my face its really visible, well because its my face.

Any one out there with a tretment that lesens or clears this up would be good. I've looked into scar diminishing(sp) products but have never tried anything.

I hope to hear from someone soon.
