Talking So that's what it is!

I went to the dr today for a mite problem. (Long story, tell you about it when it's funny.)

I was showing her my arms and tummy, pointing out the difference between the bites and "the bumpy stuff" as I call it.

"Yeah," she says, "There's the keratosis and there's the bite."

...the what?

Her husband has it, so she gave me a quick run down.

One doctor told me I had rosacea, but the medicine never did anything to it. A nice little old woman in the grocery check-out line told me I had a food allergy. I am lactose intolerant, but I have a weakness for certain dairy products.

I lasted a whole month without cheese. Never again.

She said there are treatments, but they are temporary and usually painful. Screw that. I'll deal with a little bit of ugly rather than a lot of pain and worry over my looks.

I'm a pretty hefty girl, so playing connect the dots is the least of my worries when it comes to looking and feeling attractive.

On the upswing, at least I know why I never went through the "pizza face" stage as a teenager!

So, hi! I'm Eve.

That's just what happened to me today. I've got a ton of questions, so I'll probably be bugging the ever-living out of y'all for a while.

I'm super-friendly, so say hi!

Hi Eve,

Welcome to the KP Forum. If you have a KP story to tell, we have listeners!
I hope you find some remedies here to help you. Let us know if you do.

Re: So that's what it is!

I haven't tried any treatments, but I will. I've noticed a few things about my KP and how it reacts to certain situations, but I'm betting everyone already know about those things.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. :-)

Not necessarily. If you have some KP observations, please share, as they may be new to someone here. Newcomers join every day who don't go back and read past posts, so we don't mind repeating the same thing. And it might be new for us after all!
