I found this site last year and I was able to finally put a name to the condition that made the bumps on my arms, legs and butt. I'm 50 years old and I've been bothered by the bumps since I was a teen. But I did some research and found a cure that worked for me.
I figured I would try a salicylic acid product, but I was really turned off by the huge cost of commercial products.
So I did a search of companies that sell
salicylic acid and I mixed up a home made lotion. My KP was totally gone in just a few weeks, but I still apply the lotion daily after my morning shower.
If I stop applying it, the bumps return in about 10 days.
The salicylic acid cost me around $50 for 1 kilo (2.2 pounds). I get a big bottle of skin lotion (at my local Walgreens) and put it into a 1 quart plastic tub.
The hardest part is getting the lotion out of the bottle and into the tub! Then I add 1 table spoon of salicylic acid and stir it in. The lotion costs about $3 and unless I live to age 100, I'll never run out of the salicylic acid. A tub of the lotion lasts me about a month and it only takes me about 10 minutes to mix it up.

Where do you get salyclic acid from? I live in canada in ontario and im wondeirng if a supermarket would have it?
