Better late then never
Hi guys~ My name's Chris. I live in the US and I'm 18 years old. I love my family, friends, art, video games, food, cooking, and animals. I've had KP for as long as I can remember looking at my skin. It started on my upper-arms and worked its way down to my chest, forearms, upper back, and thighs. I always thought it was acne, and it would go away, but then I finally saw a dermatologist who actually knew what it was, and my world fell apart. I honestly feel crippled by this skin condition. I graduated last year from high school and I haven't done anything since. I'd love to feel "normal", and have beautiful skin, but I don't, and I wonder if I ever will. Maybe some day I'll stop letting KP get the best of me. Maybe some day I'll get rid of my KP, or improve it to the point that nobody could notice it, but until then, KP is really keeping me down and ruining my life.

Re: Better late then never
Welcome, Chris.
I would like to suggest that you get right to trying remedies suggested here. I have found that when I tackle a problem, whatever it is, it gives my such a sense of hopefullness and empowerment, taking away any discouraging feelings. I feel like I have control over my body, not the other way around. I suggest this, because you say you feel "crippled by this" and "haven't done anything since." Please start trying methods suggested here. It may take you a while to find what works for you, but you will have a goal and plenty to read here for suggestions to try. Also, post on "Teen Talk" with your comments and questions. You will find lots of friendly supporters there. Please keep in touch and let us know what helps you. kebod |

Just for your information, Turquoise made her own decision to no longer post -- she was never banned when she stopped posting, though she may be now after her latest "idiot" remarks -- I don't know and would have to check. On her web page, she made very derogatory remarks about "the idiots" making decisions on the KP forum. That is when Juan, the administrator and owner of the KP Forum (and the person she was calling an idiot), decided to remove her AHA thread entirely. Up until then, he was allowing her thread to remain. Her own lack of respect and courtesy brought all this about, though she is incapable of seeing that. I know her thread was very popular, but I am surprised at how many posters here fault the administrator, and fail to see that Turquoise' own attitude has anything to do with this. This is a public web site. Showing disrespect to anyone, especially the administrator/owner, is a quick way to be banned and have your thread locked. kebod Last edited by Elsa Zoe; 01-29-2008 at 01:51 PM.
