Hello to everyone

Hello, my name is Sarah. I'm a 21 year old college student, here to introduce myself.

This site has been very interesting to explore. I do not know if I have KP or not. I discovered this site while trying to figure out what the little red and white bumps on my upper arms are. I've had them for years, starting maybe in my teens (14 or 15). I haven't yet had a dermatologist confirm it, and judging by the info here, I am not sure there is much point, seeing as it's uncurable.

I am wondering if the redness in the face "rubra faceii" is something people get in addition to the KP, or can you only have one or the other? I have red cheeks that just look like dry, flushed, skin (sort of a mix between being embarassed looking and wind burned), and I had no idea that there may be a connection between the two. I am still doing some research on it to see, and looking to see what products other people use to reduce the appearance of both conditions.

Thanks to anyone who reads this and replies with greetings or advice. I look forward to seeing you all on the forums.

Sarah

Re: Hello to everyone

HI Sarah:

I'm glad that you decided to join our community!

KPRF (Keratosis Pilaris Rubra Faceii): Is considered to be another type of KP.

We have a forum specially dedicated for KPRF right here: http://www.keratosispilaris.org/kprf-rubra-faceii-red-face-flushing-blushing/

You can browse the forum and see what treatments people are using on their face to treat their condition. As you say, there is no cure, but there are effective treatments, you just have to find the one that suit you the best.

The key element: patience and consistency in your treatment.

Well, we hope that you can share with us your experiences and contribute in some of our forums with questions or suggestions.

C'ya!
