hello all,

i'm new here and glad i found you all!

i'm an african american woman and i've had kp on my legs--thighs to ankles--and upper arms since i was about 12 years old. however, it was only 4 years ago that a dermatologist told me i have kp and that there is no cure.

now i'm 33 years old and still ONLY wear jeans, long pants and 3/4 length sleeves or longer. my skin care regimen is moisturizing body washes/soaps, using a japanese rough cloth, followed by amlactin 12% lactic acid lotion. not sure why i'm still doing this, because there has not been any change in the texture of my skin.

no one else i know--family or friends--has kp. so, i hope you all don't mind that i've adopted you as my kp family

You are welcome to our forum. Consider yourself part of our KP family now. I hope you can find some solutions here that others are finding success with. You will read that some remedies that work for some of us don't work for others, so it is a matter of trying different things until you find something right for you. Feel free to jump in on any of the ongoing discussions with questions or comments.
