I have had KP, for as long as I can remember. It never really bothered me, until the boy I had a crush on in 7th grade, asked me "Eww, what is that on the back of you arms!?" The fact that other people noticed them...let alone him, bothered me beyond words. To this day, that comment has stuck in my head. I have it pretty severe on the back of my arms, and it continues down my arms all the way down to my wrists and I also have some kind of form of it on my lower legs (flat, with spots) and it is also pretty bad on my thighs. I know it shouldn't control your life, and most people tell me that they can't even see it. I think they are just being nice. How can they not!!! It does control my life. Especially in the summer. I see all these cute tops, but think about the fact that it won't cover the back of my arms so I can't buy it. I use to tan for years, and that covered it up pretty well, but then my mom was diagnosed with cancer and that was the end of that. KP may be ugly, but it isn't worth getting cancer over.

I have 2 children, the youngest born in December 2005. I do feel like it has gotten worse since then. It does seem that for a few years, maybe ages 16-19, that it did get better and was less noticeable...that was until I had my first child at 20.

I just found this site tonight, as I was looking around for things to help me out. So glad I found you guys and I can't wait to learn more about other people, who are suffering from this awful skin problem. So glad to know that I am not alone...after all these years!
