Ok, so i started noticing that in photos the skin around my eyes appear to be yellow? around my mouth a little bit too. It's a little less noticeable in person..

I google searched this and found a forum with replies... someone said

"One of the other common causes could be thyroid imbalance, mostly commonly hypothyroid (or low function). Thyroid hormone assists in processing beta carotene into Vitamin A, so the yellow could be beta carotene buildup. This might also cause some acne-like bumps on the back of your arms"


im guessing they mean the acne-like bumps are keratosis pilaris.
so maybe we have too much beta carotene?

my questions are : does anyone else have yellow skin

Don't know about it per se but a Dr. can order a thyroid test for you. I have had mine done when I was severely fatigued. That and iron levels. Mine came back normal. But I also didn't have yellowed skin around my eyes and mouth. I had gluten-intolerance.

It could be so many things that's causing the yellow color around your mouth and eyes...

Get your liver checked! I know someone who had yellowish skin (not Simpsons-like, just a bit yellow, though not alarming, he didn't look weird or anything) and it turned out he had a malfunctioning liver due to a parasite. Delicious...

Another possibility is: allergies! You could be allergic/sensitive and not even know...

It could also be a candida infection.

Or it could simply be very dry skin that's causing some discoloration. Moisturize 3 times daily and see if it goes away... Turmeric soap lightens the skin. See if you can find an ayurvedic one, they're better... try a local desi store, they tend to have such things.

I don't think you can actually overdose beta-carotene. However, if you do eat too much of it, you might get orange looking skin all over, not just spots.

Hi , i also have yellow around my eyes, it was not very noticeable a few years ago, but now it is, its also around my mouth, and down my cheek,i have had liver function tests, also thyroid, these were normal, and i do not have keratosis pilaris, so im at a loss, however, i will be going back to my dr to follow up on this.

I'm in the dark too about this and also have had an orangy coloring around my mouth for years. Don't have yellow around my eyes though. Took Accutane 17 years ago, never felt the same since. Possible connection?? Not sure how to get rid of the orange coloring. Maybe connected to the liver? My liver and thyroid have always tested normal.
