Epsom Salt Bath Works
I just wanted to thank y'all for the info I found from here and let everyone know that it appears to be the answer to my KP.
I'm on my 3rd day and my arms are smooth and getting less red as the days past. My limited acne is also gone. Bumps on rear gone. It might seem like a hassle, but anything for perfect skin! I have a doctor appt with the derm tomorrow and she will think I'm crazy for making an appt since my arms have no bumps! |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
I guess I should also mention that I also drink about 70oz of water a day. I eat every 3 hrs of clean food. I consume very limited sugar if any at all. And I get at least 8 hours of sleep.
I work out 4-5 days a week. That's more for building mass, but it might of helped too. |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
Hello. First of all, congrats on your success. Second, when u say bumps on rear are gone, do you mean only bumps or both bumps and redness? 'Cause bumps on my rear are flat, but the dots are very visible.
Thanks. |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
My dots are fading. I really can't even notice them unless I try. The dots on mu arm are hard to notice, and the dots on my thighs look to be gone. I'm not 100% clear but I'm very close.
I had my appt with the derm today and she confirmed that I do have KP and she herself had it and gave me some Salicylic Acid cream and lotion and recommended St. Ives Apricot Scrub (soap with beads and Salicylic Acid. She didn't tell me that KP wasn't treatable. She said everyone is different and it's a matter of finding what works for your body. As far as using Epsom Salts with no bath . . . this is from a med website "Try massaging handful of Epsom Salt mixed with tablespoon bath oil or olive oil and rub all over your moist skin to exfoliate and soften your skin. Then sponge down." "Eases stress and relaxes body Stress drains the body of magnesium and Epsom Salt is considered to be a natural stress reliever. When dissolved in warm water Magnesium Sulfate is absorbed through the skin and replenishes the level of magnesium in the body. The salt draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling and relaxes muscles. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. Research shows that magnesium also increases energy and stamina by encouraging the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the energy packets made in the cells. Experts believe that bathing with Epsom Salt at least three times a week helps to look better, feel better and gain more energy.Magnesium ions also relax and reduce irritability by lowering the affects of adrenaline. It lowers blood pressure, creates a relaxed feeling, improves sleep, concentration, and helps muscles and nerves to function properly. Relieves pain and muscle cramps Try soaking your aching, tired feet in a tub of water with half a cup of Epsom Salt, this will not only make your feet feel better, but also removes feet odor. Epsom Salt neutralizes odor and softens skin. Epsom Salt has been a long time natural remedy for a number of ailments. An Epsom Salt bath is known to relieve inflammation and relieves pain, making it beneficial in the treatment of sore muscles, bronchial asthama and migraine. In addition, it has been known to heal cuts, reduce soreness from childbirth and relieves colds and congestion. Exfoliates dead skin Try massaging handful of Epsom Salt mixed with tablespoon bath oil or olive oil and rub all over your moist skin to exfoliate and soften your skin. Then sponge down. This could prove to be a real quick-fix beauty tip you’ve ever known. Helps muscles and nerves function properly Studies show that magnesium is an electrolyte and helps to ensure proper functioning of the muscle, nerve and enzyme. It is also known to be critical in the proper use of calcium in cells. Helps prevent hardening of arteries and blood clots Epsom Salt is also believed to help prevent heart disease and strokes by lowering blood pressure, protecting the elasticity of arteries, preventing blood clots and reducing the risk of sudden heart attack deaths. Makes insulin more effective This salt also increases the effectiveness of insulin, helping to lower the risk or severity of diabetes." |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
Ohad,
You can use Epsom salts in the shower. Get wet, put your hands in some Epsom salts, and rub gently all over. Rinse off. Don't rub too hard. This works as an exfoliating treatment, also. kebod

KP reduced 99%. If I go "off diet" -- grains, sugars, etc. -- or stop oil pulling, KP returns. |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
hey imavampire, i know it's a long shot but do you have before and after pictures? also, how severe was your kp? were your spots really dark? or just red... my spots are a mixture of red and dark brown... and i was wondering if the epsom salt would make my spots fade since i've got the bumps situation to a bare minimum. i love at home remedies but i just wanna get some facts cleared up before i try it.
thanks!! -njay |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
njay, I do not have before and after pics. My spots are/were a combination of red and brown. I'm latin/white.
I had a lot of red on my forearms which made it embarrassing to wear short sleeves. My forearms in just 4 days are my natural skin color. It's not 100% clear, but I love the results so far. The spots on my legs are faded to where you can barely notice it. The back of my arms have a few spots, but they are not as red as they used to be, and I expect it to only get better. It's so cheap and easy to do I don't see how anyone can't want to try it. You also probably have to be committed to living a healthy lifestyle. If not, then you have no right to ask for perfect skin imo. |

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works
Njay,
For a bath, soak for 15-20 minutes. No, you don't scrub the salts, because they are dissolved in the bath water first. For a shower, use epsom salts as a gentle exfoliator. Noobie most likely, if an epsom salt soak helps, you will have to continue with it. I am guessing that KP has an internal cause, and the epsom salt soak is just treating the symptom, not the cause. kebod
