Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

i gotta thank you both vamp and kebod for all since my kp improved by like 10% then before and now im more near to kp free

right now its
Redness 70% this was 50% before i started redness..or something like that
Kp 80% normal and 90% when im relaxed also when i exfoliate with oil it looks like 95% gone ..

seems Epsom is a very affective method or atleast it worked on me even if in these days im not seeing lots of improve but atleast it made me reduce my kp by some..

Vamp how is your kp now? did it all go? and do u still do epsom 3 times a week?

mind tell me is apri scrub that ur using working? do you do it everyday..

this is latest update been doing epsom 11/2 month

might remind my kp was a bit drastic so i wouldn't say my hands r clean or wow near to perfect i still have lots of dots even if small very small and those are the things i cant remove... if someone pls knows a way to remove the red small dots can pls share.. well my believes r i hope they arent scares or im screwed lol.

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

Hi everyone, I'm a 16 year old Belgian so I don't know if I can find this stuff here =P (I live in Brussels).

But I asked at my pharmacy and I believe the chemical term for "Epsom Salt" is Magnesium Sulfat right ? (MgSO4)

Well she told me that it was a "grandmother receipe" and that it could be dangerous for your skin cause it can burn it or pickle it, peel it, etc.
Anyway she told me it was bad for the skin and that I shouldn't use it ...

So I was very glad to read about this solution cause you all seem to say it's working for you, pretty fast by the way, but I admit my pharmacist disappointed me by telling me that ...

So, what should I do ? Listen to her (or to you :P) ? Because I know a lot of doctors, and other people like this (like pharmacists :P) are sometimes against (or at least quite reluctant about them) these kinds of products but I also know that it often doesn't mean anything cause a lot of these products work ...

Do you think I don't take any risk by using this ? By the way (admetting I find some), how do I use it ? When my bath is ready, I get in and then I put the Epsom Salts ? How many ? How do you measure that ?

Thanks a lot for your answers, I'm losing hope.

PS : Sorry about my English if there are some mistakes (my language is French ^^)

Mike.

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

Mike...I hate to say it but your pharmacist, in my humble opinion, is full of you know what. Yes...I suspect that if you were to sit in a tub of 85% epsom salt for an hour, it would absolutely cause some burning and peeling...... Same if you used a high percentage of any exfoliant, like glycolic or salicylic acid or retin-a... Epsom salts are an exfoliant, but they are gentle and have been used safely around the world for centuries. One woman in this thread mentioned bringing her baby into the epsom bath with her, and wrote of how it aided in her child's eczema.

You have nothing to fear by taking a bath with 2-3 cups of epsom salts. I promise.

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

Mike,

I agree with Darla -- Epsom Salts (magnesium sulfate) is perfectly fine and safe for skin. I mix it 50/50 with sugar and use it as a scrub in the shower. My skin loves it.

Please read this link if you want to learn more about its use:

KP reduced 99%. If I go "off diet" -- grains, sugars, etc. -- or stop oil pulling, KP returns.

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

OK thanks for your answers and for the link

I'll buy some and test it for let's say 2 or 3 weeks ? Will I see if it works after that time ?

LOL Kebod, sugar ? That sounds funny ^^ But anyway if it works !

So how should I use this exactly ? Once a day ? And I pour the epsoms salts in my bath. How many ? I suppose it's according to how many water etc. ...
Would you say one cup ? To begin in any case.

Thanks again for your answers

Oui. your pharmacist is full of merde. (Did I get the spelling right on that?) Either you weren't talking to a real pharmacist (perhaps a clerk?) or that one was confusing magnesium sulfate with something else. You can put magnesium sulfate directly on your skin. It is used in baths and in high concentration compresses as an athletic soak for minor sprains, strains and bruises. Is is used internally in lesser amounts as a laxative.

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

Mike,

Because sugar is rough, it acts like an abrasive scrub, rubbing off dead skin cells.

One to two cups of epsom salts, dissolved in your bath water, 2 or 3 times a week. Soak for 20-30 minutes.

Haha yes Bunnyday you did get the right spelling !

Kebod : Thank you for your explination

No it's a real pharmacist, normally very good, I get all my meds at this pharmacy and they're very serious, everytime I'm sick and I don't especially wanna go to my doctor, she prescribes me something and it works all the way x)
It surprised me a little but I suppose it's not a famous product and we have to admit they can't know everything but you know ...

She might have confused with magnesium chlorure I don't know but anyway I don't give a **** I'll just do as you tell me, can't handle this f*ck*ng KP anymore !!!

I got it on my chest, my arms, and even worse, on my forearms ! IMPOSSIBLE to wear a T-Shirt, and it's summer ! Hopefully it's not to heat here (not yet) but the vacations are coming ...
It's a bad one by the way ... Pretty serious =/
Redness, dry skin, dots, ... I've got red cheeks as well.

This product seems wonderful. First of all it looks all the way like it cures KP, and apparently it's also good for the muscles, stress, circulation, etc. so : great !

I've got a few other questions if you might :

- Will it also work on my cheeks ? I haven't got any dots, they're just red, and not always (sometimes it's very bad, sometimes OK), and I wouldn't say my skin is smooth but it's OK, actually they're just red ...
So can I put my whole head under water for my cheeks ?

- If I follow your advice (3 times a week), after how many weeks will it begin to get better ? I might be wrong but I thaught have read that some people felt a difference after only the first use ! Is this possible ?

- Do you have to take epsom salts baths your whole life if you don't want your KP to come back ?

- Do I have to or can I complete this by another product (lotion, soap, internal cure) ? Tell me only if you're sure that it will work please

- Last question : Does it cure your KP or does it "just" makes it get better (a lot ?) ? I mean I've got a pretty serious KP, so even if it gets a lot better and that there's still a little something on my skin, but nothing to be intrigued of, I'll already be HAPPY.
But I'm asking, you never know

I know it makes a lot of questions, excuse me, but no kidding I finally find a place where I can talk about this ****, a possible solution, so, I just must ask what I need to :S

I really thank you in advance for the answers you'll be, I hope, giving me

Thanks again

Re: Epsom Salt Bath Works

Mike,

We are all different and react differently, so I can't say if it will work on your cheeks or not. I use ES with sugar as a scrub on my face (be sure to keep it away from your eyes if you do this), and it has softened my facial skin.

Ditto for how long you will have to take the baths. It is all trial and error for us, and what works for one does not work for all. Regular epsom salt baths are healthy, KP or no, because we all need additional magnesium.

Our KP is not really cured unless it is gone without having to continue treatments or product use. If you still have to continue treatments, it is not really gone, just kept under control.

We are each individuals, and there may even be different causes for KP, so there is no one answer for everyone. Be patient and try some of the suggestions. Hopefully, you will find some treatments that help you.
